little progress update on the rack. finally had some time to brace the rear of the rack, which holds all of the weight, to the bed bolts. got the shovel and ax mounted with the quick fists, and also got my bike mounts all set up (no pictures of those though).

not i'm just waiting for the hi-lift mounts to come in the mail

colin where i have some questions about your roof rack. where did you run the wire for your lights and where did you bolt the rack down to?? im thinking of doing a rack like yours but a LED light bar up top instead of HIDs. how wide is your rack in the front?

i bolted it down to the factory holes, and drilled another hole for all of the wires.

i make them about 45'' wide up front. if you follow the roof rails, you'll notice that they actually get a little narrower, so i usually taper is a small amount as it gets to the rear.

I'm actually wirking with a member on here on a roof rack that i will probably start building in within a week. he's putting a 20'' rigid industries LED bar on it. i believe it will change a little, but here's the sketch of what it will look like as of now. per his request, i'll be cutting a clear acrylic sheet to cover the front to cut down on wind noise and keep bugs/rocks/branches etc away from the rigid bar.

I may play with the length a little, but the drawing is to scale.

ya thats pretty much exactly wat i was looking for haahaha im trying to go for as low profile as possible. put a 20" in the front and 1 or 2 of the D2 ambers on the rear. so where did you run the wires then thru the hole???

    here ya go coby.

after you get thr wires through the roof skin, you can pull down the edge of the celing. it's just tucked into the rubber by the door seal.

then you pop off the covers to two bolts on the oh shit handle. take the bolts out and the intire a-pillar should pop out with a little tug

after you run the wires down the a-pillar and reassemble, pop out your little change holder and you can grab the wires through there and under the dash by the pedals. you via those two points, you should be able to get the needed wires throught the firewall and to your switches

as for the LED bars, Rigid is unmatched in durability (youtube "rigid industries torture test"), but for the price of the one you linked to, it's worth a shot for pretty much half price of a RI bar.

ya ive watched all those tests, but i just cant see spending all that money on one. im gana wait a little while till i get it so ill as sabre for wat his thoughts are longer term wise and wat he would do if he could go back. i just dont think i would abuse one liek a trophy truck or buggy would so its not really the durability im worried about.

thanks for the help with that. maybe i should just have you build be a rack too hmmmmm.......... def throw some pics up of the final product.

i'd build you one, but as a heads up, shipping to the lower 48 seems to start in the $340 range.
