 nice! I'm in the national forest where there's decent wheeling and camping. There's a nice auto cross scene around here too if you plan to race that thing

    that is certainly the plan!

the whole idea behind this move is to gain a better work/life balance for my wife and I, in a place that we both love. we moved for the job the last 4 years since graduating college. we're now in a position where we can comfortable choose a place and find jobs around that.

really, I just want time to wheel and race ;)

You'll love it here. We'll have to do another SC get together when you come down.

If you want land look into the awendaw/mcclellanville area. It's in the national forest and your 15min from mount pleasant. Pm me if you need help looking for places. My step mom is a real estate agent

I would love a nice chunk of land, but that likely won't be this next house. i'll be working in and around North Charleston and west Ashley most likely. I always tell people, I love driving, but hate commuting. so i'll sacrifice land for a 5-10 minute commute to work. as long as I have my garage, I'm good. this 1 car garage I've been working out of the last 3 years is killing me.

Allright folks, big things are happening!

I've accepted a job offer in Charleston, SC. actually accepted it last Wednesday, but wanted to make sure all of the paperwork went through before announcing it publicly.

we are headed down this weekend to look at some houses and get a temporary storage unit set up. next weekend we drive down with the U-Haul (or two), and I start the new job on May 1st.

that being said, I only really have a couple of evenings left to work on the vehicles before in the worst case scenario, I'm out of a garage/driveway for few months

the roof scoops finally came in last night. in addition to installing a new CV int he truck tonight, I'm going to try to get some fiberglass reinforcing/repairing done on the scoops. and get them painted. if I can do that, I should be able to weld up the mounting brackets, and get these things installed by the end of tomorrow night. at that point, both vehicles will be 100% ready for the great migration south!

the package had a rough journey from the Neatherlands....

photo of all the toys in the driveway after potentially their last bath in Maryland

    2017-04-16 18.05.39.jpg

also did my first Fiero oil change last weekend. what a weird car. I know cartridge filters are used on a lot of vehicles, but I've never changed the oil on one until now. between the cartridge and the absolutely giant oil pan plug, it makes for a relatively messy oil change
