No there is no FASPA for your masters but you can get a lone for it if you want. I'm paying $2200 a class right now. But its only two years and less classes. My old lady had a scholarship for her undergrad but had to pull out lones for her masters. $26k and just starting to pay for it.

There's no fafsa for masters, but depending on what you are studying there are grants and scholarships available through different companies and organizations. Also, don't forget to see what your school offers for aid for the masters programs

I plan on getting my masters in psychology. Unfortunately if it's the only way to acctually get a decent jobs with this degree, but I think it's totally worth it. (having your bachelors in psych makes you eligible for a job at mcdonalds.....) I plan on either doing probation/parole or i've also thought about counseling. My current job gives small scholarships but nothing too big. My fiance is in her last year of getting her bachelors in accounting and got a scholarship from Intel for this year and they told her when she's done theres a job waiting for her in Portland..(im sure her aunt had something to do with this :D)

Yeah. The only way I paid for my masters was through a research grant and a scholarship. Good thing I got those because I was broke and wasn't working

I can imagaine grad school sucks...My current job..it's okay pays decent but I know I have the potential for more. Pretty much everyday I go to work it's the thing that gives me motivation to stay in school. All the guys I work with, there like 40-50 in age, they all encourage me to keep going to school so that helps.

As for deciding what I wanted to do, I just got lucky I guess. I took an intro to psych class and immediately loved it. I think I took every single psych class possible at that community college, which was nice because I was able to pay less money for the same classes at a university. After taking the same classes with a bunch of the same psych professors one came up to me and asked what I wanted to major in, I told him Psych. I'm thankful that he was brutally honest and told me that a Bachelor will get me no where and that I will HAVE to get a masters if I go along with this. So here I am...taking summer school getting as many classes done as possible so i can hurry up and start my masters.

Frankly the thing that got me through school was working at a factory ever summer. I realized I didn't want to work for 10 bucks an hour my entire life. (factory jobs suck dick around here)

I thought everyone knew that a degree in Psych wasn't worth much with out a masters. Its a good thing that you like what your doing though, that is whats important.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Economics and Master's of Business Administration and I only have about $22,000 in student debt. (when I graduated undergrad in 2005 I had about $40K) I also went full time every year... no half years, no community college, and no online classes. I had a blast, learned a lot, and joined the Navy anyway. When I finish my 20 years I'll have over a dozen professional qualifications, 20 years of experience, 20 years of leadership and management, a graduate degree, and a solid retirement to build on (maybe). I am very confident that I will land a very well compensated Job (if I choose too) that will more than make up for the $40K that I spent plus the interest charges. Plue, I've travelled a lot and experienced a lot of places and still have many adventures ahead of me. I really don't use my B.S very much however I use my MBA all the time in my current job and I had to use my B.S degree education to get my MBA.

I have however earned those things and I'm grateful to tax payers for funding me for these years. I am glad to sacrifice my freedom for your safety and would still probably do this even with less benefits. I've experience some bad things too but all in all it has been worth it.

I think if you plan it out correctly college can be very beneficial to your future.

meh, if you choose the right major and work your ass off, you'll make bank after graduating. Its only a conspiracy if you dont take advantage of the things college has to offer.

Thing that gets me is that the State of Florida is raising tuition costs by 15% and justifying it. Meanwhile they are cutting classes here at USF, and spending a crap load on construction and "beautification" of the campus, raising the cost of instate tuition and decreasing out of state tuition. Another thing that ticks me off is friggen textbook. You have to by the new book, but when you try to sell it back they either say they are not taking them back or only give you $20 for a $200 book.

I have no problem with going to college to obtain a higher education (hell i'm going back to get 2 more undergraduate degrees)

Also Florida wants to completely change its merit based scholarship because is goes to people who don't deserve it

    Fear totally feel you!!

My thing is how do they charge instate and out of state different prices? Charge the same, if kids come to your state thats more money being spent in your state!!

And the books, I dont even sell mine back anymore.

This isn't exactly the same thing. Credit applications allow you to have a co-signer to get you off the ground.

The only spot where it's similar is if you have a family member or friend that gets you into your first job so that you can get some experience under your belt. I was lucky enough to have this venue available to me and after months and months of searching, I am eternally grateful. Very few options available and, as previously stated, all of them required at least 2 years experience.

You Sir live in the wrong town to apply a degree. Many of my HS classmates basically wasted money on college as they work in jobs that have nothing to do with their qualifications. A coworker of mine has a bach and is a clerk.

it all depends on what you go to college for. I knew a lot of people who went to college for Political Science, Liberal Arts, Map folding (jk, but other Mickey Mouse Degrees), and they are all having a very hard time getting a job.
If you want to become a Doctor, Engineer, ect, college a must. No way around it. I think the problem is college comes so early in life. How the hell are you supposed to know what you want to do for the rest of your life at 18?

Haha, do you speak from being through Zanesville? I've applied to over 100 school districts and only had one interview. It is that way for a lot of my classmates too unless they knew someone at a district or got on because they are in a high needs area. Which I'm thinking about gonig back and getting my Masters Degree in Special Education or Guidance Counseling just not sure which yet.
