Billed as the toughest place in college football for opponents to play by Rivals.com, the Hokies play on not only one of the best playing surfaces in the nation, but with the south end zone and west side additions, the Hokies compete in one of the best stadiums in the nation. The Hokies are 100-29-1 at home during Coach Frank Beamer's tenure at Virginia Tech and more impressively, are 82-15 in Blacksburg during the last 15 seasons. One Hokie tradion is the Cadets fire Skipper, the world’s largest game cannon after the anthem and after every score. "

Apparently im not the only one . LOL Im just starting crap anyway :D.

lol i'll give that in the past few years VT has been a NASTY football team, doing much better than Clemson...

BUT its hard to look past a 70% win record at home over 66 years...along with a record setting 132.8 dB reading DESTROYING the previous record of 121 dB by LSU :D

Last year's stadium... The scoreboard is gone now, in the process of replacing it w/ another end-zone upper deck. Capacity when finished: 102,000+

We had 84,000 last Saturday at the A-Day game. It was on ESPN, if any of you tuned in.

    ROLL TIDE!

Any coach would have had a difficult year at Michigan with the loss of all the seniors it had when Coach Carr retired. Almost all the skilled positions left and some very key lineman as well. Tough deal to walk into for sure. Then on top of it all...Coach Rodriguez has a completely different offensive system. Not much good can come of that scenerio and not much did.:(
I'm looking for a big improvement from last year though...40 years between losing seasons is cool with me. Time to start another 40 years of winning seasons.:woot:

when you play in a bowl as large as Michigan does, it's difficult to hold the noise in. It's all got to do with the design of the stadium to how much noise is held in. Easier to do with the little stadiums you play in.

Put 10 people in a 20 x 20 room and see what db you can hit. Then put them in a 100 x 100 room....same people, but the noise is spread out and not nearly as loud.

We are adding on/up so that will help capture some of the sound, but it will never be a super loud staduim due to the size of it and how it's layed out. Bummer for sure as over 110k can generate alot more noise than a measly 85k.

So what yer saying is...that yer a bunch of loudmouths then?
