I didn't change my major, but after I graduated I got a job that didn't have anything to do with my degree. I didn't know how I felt about that but I had a job and didn't really mind. And then 3 years later I realized that what I really wanted to do was unrelated to my job and what my degree was in. I looked into a graduate program but needed all these prereqs. So I took about a year and a half of classes just for prereqs. Fastforward, I have 6 more classes before I get my masters (currently taking 3 of them).

Thing is, people change majors and careers all the time. It's really ok. I actually got a degree and a different career before I realized what I wanted to do. And even at that point, I had to go back take classes, which = time + money. But in the grand scheme of things, that time + money is nothing compared to the rest of your life.

Bottom line... Whenever you realize what you know you want to be doing for the rest of your life, by all means do what it takes to get there.

Would changing your career be the same as changing your major?
I am going from being a electrical contractor to becoming a Mechanical Engineer.

Unofficially changed mine once. Had intentions of going for elementary ed but never officially declared anything my first year then ended up declaring accounting after my freshman year. Had a couple jobs in accounting out of college and currently working in marketing haha.
