I used a nice set of Bose speakers a lot in my room when friends where over just hanging out at night.

I didn't rush, but if I was at Clemson I'd definitely do it...Trust me, the girls in the sororities there are worth it. I'm not saying that as a slob, they are gorgeous girls and you'd have a good time with them even as friends.

Don't stress too much out about class, it's healthy to get out and socialize. I didn't first semester. 2nd semester was MUCH better because I got to know people and went to a few parties.

A good set of sound isolating or sound canceling headphones. I like kilpsch s5's. Great for drowning out noisy libraries, helps focusing on studying, and that neighbor having loud sex.

This. :p They are quite nice

My Major is going to be Computer Science (BS)

I dont really have a problem with a fraternity, its just i dont have that schedule that i'll be following(attempting) everyday and I dont know where time would be for social events and stuff. I play soccer so the gym thing is a must, As far as parties, I dont drink and I enjoy going and having a good time.

Are you playong soccer for university on scholarship?
If you decided that join a fraternity that will work around your schedule. They want and need guys that get good grades, go to class, socialize out side of parties (which you'll do at the gym), and they will have study tables they often times both actives and associate members are required to go to, Don't give them a negative stigma before you even go. Being involved in Greek Life is far more then just what you see in the movies.

Oh no, the movie's portrayal of Greek life is farfetch'd at best. My mentors at the University are in frats and they encouraged me to rush. I'll prob give it a go. I just need to do some research on each frat and figure out which ones are the best for me. I'm sure im missing info about Greek life theres no way around that.

Don't feel like you need to join a frat. I just graduated last semester and made it all 4 years just fine without a frat. For me it was the right decision. Met many girls and made plenty of friends without the frat. Try and meet some of the people in the frats to get a feel for how they are before they try to get you to rush.

Also, like has been mentioned, be social. College is a different environment than you have ever had before and will never have again. Don't be that guy that gets caught up studying all the time and never goes out to have fun. I know you said you don't drink but odds are that will change and there is nothing wrong with it in moderation. Just don't go overboard and make sure you have some good friends that you trust to watch your ass when you get drunk.

See ya there man... As for rushing... I don't see much need in paying for friendship... But to each his own... I've made it 2 1/2 years just fine without being associated with a fatetnity.

No offense man. But the "don't need to pay for friends" is a typical bull shit close minded answer.
