yea you don't need 33s, but most the people who are in this thread have some sort of lift and 33s, that's why i stated with a lift and 33s all these trails are doable...with proper wheel placement, you can get away with stock sizes

EDIT: even you have slightly larger than stock....you're almost at 32

Rating of 6: probably too much for a stock Jeep Wrangler, but perfect for one on 33" tires. These trails will provide challenges and fun for mildly modified vehicles as well as the bigger rigs, so they are perfect for mixed groups. There may be obstacles with many lines from easy to difficult.

at the higher end ratings on these trails...TD states 33s would be perfect, i.e. not necessary but will make shit much easier..

is it doable in <33s, yes, but you have to take it a little easier if you don't have skids

When Jay and I were up at BV, we ran a few trails where things were "needed" and we made it through. Most of those trails were 6-8.

    Also 265/75 16's are a 31+.

yea looks like they are 31-32...

looking at doing cascade>saxon and play around in the argentine pass/mcclellan mtn area saturday (or if jeff has a good summit county day trip idea), then one of the "harder" trails for sunday...either red elephant or park creek and msv/coney

is one of these trails where you got your body damage where "recommended" sliders would have been handy?

Yea sliders would of been good :D. It is possible to make it through without body damage though. I wouldn't advise someone to try it, even if they had silders, if they were worried about body damage.

then you should have no problem with any of these trails...sounds like red elephant may make you shed a tear with the pinstriping

i'm looking at saturday hitting up cascade>saxon then argentine pass area to play around in after...you should check those out, you won't have any issues and shouldn't have to worry about pinstriping

then sunday the trails will get tighter and stepped up a bit on difficulty

meet at the mcdonalds in idaho springs
i wouldn't mind meeting up fairly early to leave open the option to hit up the argentine/mcclellan area up after we get off saxon

cascade creek light blue on map
    saxon mountain blue on map
note: ute creek>spring gulch (not spring creek) are rated as easy which we'd use to get from cascade to saxon

    A few bolts are different.
Our camp site tonight, looking at the top map, is kind of in the corner of spring creek (red) and Spring Gulch (purple) it is on a side trail that is .1G I think

i vote for meeting at the McDonnalds in idaho springs since the trail head is off of the 103 which runs right through idaho springs.

    i also vote for 9am :)

how about off the mt evans exit...go south and there is a parking lot we can meet at on the right, the first right...it's a ranger station or google maps says its a school...but just over the river take the right

this will save some time having to drive through town

how about 8:45ish at the lot :D

hmm... i am not that familiar with idaho springs and i am not seeing a mt evans exit on google maps.

are you talking about the clear creek middle school off of the 103 high way and water street?

ok... how about meet at 8:30am and wait for stragglers until 9:00am before we hit the trails? :)
