Having some difficulty finding the right color touch up for the 19 calavary blue 8w2. The dealer has the 8w2, but its a blueish gray color. The voodoo blue seems to be a better match for my vehicle even though the color code on the door shows 8w2. Anyone else having this issue ?

It's definitely 8W2. I would not use the Voodoo Blue for touch up...

But that color is too grayish. Its not even close to the color of my vehicle. I think possibly the touch ups might have been mislabeled or they dont have the 2019 colors available yet in the touch ups.

It's the same code as the FJ's from 2011 and the Tacomas from 2018. I would get it and test it in an inconspicuous area like a door jamb. You could even do the same with the Voodoo blue but I don't think you'll like the outcome.

Dr. Colorchip has been spot on for all my vehicles. Way better than just touchup paint from a dealer

Weird you mention that. I’ve noticed that my Cavalry Blue seems bluer than some of the others I’ve seen. Seems to be some variance.

I order the voodoo blue and the calavary 8w2 from the dealer and going to see which one matches the best. If its the voodoo blue than the dealer has some explaining to do. Hopefully the 8w2 will match, but the last one was too gray from the dealership i got last week and took it back. Even the parts guy was dumbfounded.

best thing to do is find an autopaint supply and have them shoot YOUR paint with their gun and give you the recipe. My quicksand is way different than the factory touch-up and the paint that SnugTop used the first go-round. Cement, VooDoo, Cavalry and Quicksand are all funky colors. I didn't get a cement truck because I figured it would be a bitch to match, it could be too blue, too dark, too light, and so on.

Of the tests or matches that you come up with... I have the same truck and would be interested to know your results.
