Color code madness

My truck is silver and when looking at the store for which touch up paint I needed I found that there are, iirc, 5 or 6 different silvers for my year of Tacoma. How do I find out the color code for my truck? Is it coded in the vin, or on the door jam info panel? Please help. Thank you!

 

Your truck looks like Lunar Mist Metallic like mine. The paint code is Toyota 1C8. I'll warn you though, it's really hard to make touch ups look decent with paint that has metallic flake in it.

 

on my 09 its listed below the vin. My code is 3R3

 

Thankfully where I’m touching up is a spot of rust that is under the wheel flare. I may just prime it and not worry about paint but it would be nice to know my color code for other little dings and such I may want to touch up. Thanks for the tip about the metallic flake though, good to know!
