Color Matching TRD Offroad Fenders

The big ass TRD sticker, off road specific wheels, and chrome grille all definitely scream "base model".

I agree that the black plastic trim does make the truck appear as a base model. It's something unique to base models trucks.

Countered example: a TRD Off Road with black fender flares. This is not a base model truck. Your assumption is incorrect.

 

Let me rephrase my initial message; until the arrival of the 2016 Tacoma, black plastic over fenders were unique to base model trucks. It is a characteristic of base model trucks, which has been incorporated into the 2016 OR.

 

I wanna say that these are more resistant to showing trail graphics, thus the reason in them being used on the OR.. I personally think they look tits on the OR.. The color matched ones are a bit much.. Just opinion..

 

I like the black. Looks good to me.

Watch who wants to bet the 2017 TRD Pro is an offroad with color matched fenders or a sport lifted with crawl control and all the offroad goodies. I think Toyota releasing the unpainted fenders could be a marketing ploy.
