I have been seeing the same used Tacomas listed on dealer's sights for close to six months. The used Tacomas do not seem to be moving. Perhaps those buyers are buying new, or from private parties, or other used outlets.

Yea, it's rather ridiculous. $2.69 at the Sheetz and Giant in town. I typically fill up in Maryland on my way to work, even then it's creeping up there. It was $2.45 yesterday and my truck was a little below 1/4, that was $37 :annoyed:

I paid $2.73 for middle grade yesterday @ Sunnyway with ten cents off a gallon bonus points or whatever it's called. Fifty one dollars total, my light was on when I pulled up to pump. LOL My truck just seems to run better on a higher grade gas, less shifting. Maybe it's just me.

I'm super anal, I try to never let it get below 1/4 tank. Makes me think I'm spending less on gas. Got a tank of Rutter's top tier fuel last week and the truck went through that quick for some odd reason. Filled up at the AC&T at Garland Groh yesterday so we'll see how that goes. I usually get the most mileage outta gas at Giant here in town when I use the gas points. Still get better fuel mileage than my second gen though...

I don't think it's just you. I have always found my Toyota vehicles to run better on higher grade fuels. The last Tundra I had, 2012, was flex-fuel and you could really tell it when I was running E-85 but the mileage went down almost 2MPG. I still have a '05 Sequoia, that I bought new, and when it was my DD, I always ran 93 octane because you could hear it ping, under load, using 87. I haven't run 93 in the Taco yet because most stations around me are at least $1/GAL more for 93 vs 87.....

I miss the days when it was only ten cents between fuel grades. Made it a lot less expensive to fill up a performance car or cheaper to up the fuel grade going into a base car like a Tacoma.

I recall the days of pumping Sunoco leaded 260 into my Stangs. It was red in color. Showing my age...

Costco premium is typically only $.10-$.15 higher than other station regular gas but going there is a pain as it is in a very congested mall circle and always a line at the pumps. Otherwise you're going to pay anywhere from $.70 - $1.00/GAL for high grade where I live....painful.

I bought my 2015 DCSB 2.7L 2WD SR5 for $25k May 2015 and sold it with 45k miles Dec 2018 for $22k. I was happy with the amount of value it held. I’ve had that happen with all the Toyota’s I’ve owned though. My first car was a 1996 t4r I bought for $4k and I sold it 4 years later for $4.5k. Had a 1996 Tacoma I bought for $3.5k and sold it 3 years later for $3k. Love knowing you won’t lose much on them. And yes seems like they are just getting more expensive. My 2021 I just bought is same exact specs as my 2015 was and it was $30k. $5k more than it cost 5 years early for the new truck.

I'm glad to hear the truck holds it's value. I made a mistake by buying the truck to tow a 3,600 gvw trailer. seems the trans over heats with high revs to pull a rv and converter problems with towing. So I plan on just beating it for 3 years towing and then dumping it before the warranty runs out.

I shopped used a LOT. All my local dealers had DCLB 2018-2019 asking price 36-39K. It made more sense to buy new. Used ones are flying off dealer lots here, as people don't want to wait for the right truck (new)

As someone who lives in MD and drives all over PA for work I can attest to this. I refuse to fuel up in PA. Even if I’m at 3/4 tank I’ll top off before crossing state lines haha.

Same thing here... Last April when I started looking, I thought I'd look for, say, a 3 year old turn-in from a lease and save some $$.
Not only was there next to nothing to be found even in like a 200 mile radius from me, the prices being asked were not what I considered a bargain. It didn't take long to figure out that for another $3-4K, I could buy new over something that already had 40+K miles on it. So I did and not regretting it one tiny bit. I did have to wait about 4 months to get it, but I'm not gonna complain. Love my truck!

I had to order what I really wanted and had to wait 4 months. That kinda' sucked, but on the other hand it was like being a little kid again and having a 4 month long 'Xmas Eve-waiting-for-Xmas day' thing .. LOL!
Since I was in absolutely in no hurry and in no real need as 'I need something NOW' kinda' thing... And it had been a long time since I'd bought a new anything .. it was somewhat fun.:D

My sister (In CA.) says regular is +- $3.50 a gallon and slowly creeping up.
    Where I live in WA. it's $2.50 a gallon.
Good thing is, ID. is only 10 minutes away and just filled up at $2.05 a gallon.

When I was shopping two years ago I was convinced I'd buy a late model used one to save money since I knew they'd last many years. Boy, was I out of luck! Used ones witk 50K+ miles were all within 3K of brand new. (SRs) And there were very few on the used market to begin with.
It made perfect sense to buy new at $24,500.
