Backstory: Bought a 2021 TRD Sport in black 3 months and kinda regret the color (gets dirty easy) and gets hot very fast.

Have any of you here ran into this where you went back to the dealership a few months later and traded into another color?

Was just wondering if anyone ran into this and how bad you did on the financial side of things.

You'll lose several thousand trading in. You could always sell it yourself, but I'd recommend finding a professional detailer in your area and maybe getting a ceramic coating. I have a black TRD 4runner that's an absolute pain to keep clean, but I wouldn't trade it for any other color. In fact, I wish my Tacoma was black instead of MGM.

If you bought it brand new, typically it depreciates the moment you drive it off the lot.

That being said, with the way used truck prices are at the moment, you may be able to recoup any of those “losses.”

Biggest issue you will find is locating a new truck in the color you like, as inventory is at a severe low point.

Don’t forget that there are alternatives too, like vinyl wrapping etc.

I love my cement, but wish I'd gotten a lunar rock pro instead.

Yeah as others have said, I’d tint it and get a sun shade to help with the heat. Maybe ceramic coat and/or wax to help with paint protection and the dirt situation. In a few years if it looks a little dirty you’ll probably care less about it than you do now. If it really just comes down to not liking the color and you can afford to take a slight financial hit (I’m not sure how bad) I’d go ahead and trade it for what you want. Assuming there’s actually availability.

I had one cement option and didn't like the red accents on the interior. I went with black and I'm glad I did. Yes it appears dirtier sooner but that motivates me to keep it clean, especially in the winter. Plus black is pretty timeless while the same can't be said for the gimmicky colors such as voodoo blue (which I love).

Never hurts to see what they will do. Won't cost you a thing ti inquire about it. With today's used market, being crazy high. But like others said, try and find a replacement... You could always get it wrapped. But that cost is high, 3k to 5k..
