When I went shopping for one my main requirement was transmission. I wanted a MT. I found a few of them within a 150 miles. I ended up with Quicksand. My wife did not like it at first but its grown on her now. I love it. It stands out. I attend local sprint car dirt tracks every weekend and the truck gets coated with a layer of dirt. for the most part, it still looks clean. Worst part is the wheels. They are black so they are very hard to keep clean.

You guys are definitely convincing me to hang onto it. I also do keep it in the garage.

When I was buying, I originally ordered an Inferno, simply because I wanted a fairly unique color, and the one or two I saw in person did look pretty nice, to me. However, after a couple weeks, I was told that my Inferno was re-prioritized by Toyota, and it was being delayed at the factory by ~3 months. I needed to complete my purchase in the very near future, so I chose Barcelona Red. I absolutely love my color choice, 4 1/2 years later. However......... I would kill for VooDoo Blue. Blue is my favorite color, but I'm kinda picky about the specific shade of blue. The Blazing Blue Pearl color available on 2017 models was nice, but I liked the BarcelonaRed better. The VooDoo Blue is like no other shade of blue I have ever seen... it just does something for me. Everytime I see one in person, it always gets my full attention.

Keep it you will loose too much on the trade and will have to buy a higher priced truck .. most likely only in black, white or MGM - colours are all sold out in my area :(

I love my black, would and have never thought about trading. However, might not get another one, but would depend on the vehicle

I'm ordering the exact same truck right now. DCSB, 4x4 OR 6MT in Barcelona Red. I absolutely can't wait. I didn't consider ceramic coating it right away. What does that help with? (I've never had a new vehicle and never protected the paint job before)

It is the best color... but I may be biased

Agreed, the only color I sometimes wish I'd have gotten instead is white. But mainly because when we get a new vehicle for the wife, it'll most likely be white and I like matching things

I can never get over how huge fat tires are. I ride plus tires, but man fat tires are crazy. I bet it just steam rolls over anything.

Yeah it pretty much does. That one has a suspension fork as well which makes it great year round while my fat bike does not. Fatties are great for winter and sand riding!

I’ve got a cement, was looking for a voodoo blue. But in the MT world, you take what’s available. I saw a black one the other day with the bronze rims. Sheesh it was beautiful. At first I had some blue trim (trd off road sticker and trd grill logo) but I’ve just determined that the black and cement is the cleanest look I can get. I never would’ve bought a black one (scratches and heat). Now me thinks otherwise.

I have seen a number of black Tacoma's locally with a wrap. I think black makes a good base for plenty of different wrap themes. If I were unhappy with the overall color of my Tacoma - a wrap would be my first option. I went with Inferno for one reason - it was the only Tacoma on the lot and I was looking to do the deal in one day. Not sure it would have been my first choice if there would have been a bigger selection or I had more time; but I have grown to really like it. But I do love the lunar rock. :)

I've had red, blue and silver toyota trucks...last being a silver grayish tundra. Seems most vehicles i see around here are now silver...i'm sick of seeing that color reason for the quicksand this time. Its a good color for hiding how dirty the truck can get if never washed. With the glass ceramic coating it always looks like new waxed truck.

As others have mentioned it takes work to keep it clean and a regular wax or ceramic coating is a must. 11 years now with mine and other than the typical roof clear coat issues the paint is in great condition. Bought a dual action polisher and a bunch of stuff for personal detailing. It's kind of a hobby now to keep it clean and the black looks awesome when it is. Best of luck!

    Wow.

I've had colors that weren't my favs, but 99+% of my purchases have been used.

The few new purchases I've made included the color I wanted........

But thanks for stimulating the economy!

I had a black vehicle once. - I'll never do that again. It looks great at the dealership, but is ruined by real life. - particularly for a truck which sees (potentially) a lot of dust, mud, and sand...). It is the swirls that tiny scratches cause in the daylight against the dark colors. I cannot stand this swirly look.

A new black vehicle looks classy. Any vehicle beyond only a few weeks/months develop these swirls from weathering and cleaning /washing. These cannot be cleaned off. The swirls are in the clearcoat / paint.
    - that classy car suddenly looks real getto...

I sort of have an opinion on that one!

That happens on any clear coat over time. Its the reason for having a professional glass coat done this time. I was told never to wax the truck...suppose to be guaranteed for a lifetime....just who's?....mine, or theirs.

I have a 2016 DCSB 4X4 OR MT6 in Black. Always had black trucks and they do require some effort and discipline to have it look good. I said it once and I'll say it again lol, if you own a Black vehicle it's like having a Hot Woman, " She might be High Maintenance but she looks Damm Good! $.02
