Color Regret

ive had 4 black tacomas, and 9 tacomas total.. and ive always loved the black.. Hell i just got rid of my black for Army Green and i already miss it a little hehe.. but as stated earlier. i always had window tint. I also found that buying the Window Ventshades has enabled me to keep the windows cracked like 1/2 inch on long days in the sun, so the truck isnt scorching after 8-10 hrs of work. its a huge help if that is ne of your concerns

 

Nope, got the Inferno and love it. I love black, sorry to hear you regret it. I have the WeatherTech window shades for all the windows. They are quick to put on the windows and man, what a difference in temp. It's still hot inside( since I live in Phoenix ), but none of the interior is radiating with heat since it's not sitting in the sun,, so it cools down fast

Most people get a color and 1 year later are saying they wish they just got black haha

 

My 2012 TRD PRO was white, new 2021 super white. Like how you can't tell it's dirty too much.....they should have an off white which is what mine becomes most of the time lol

 

Beautiful setup, are those the Weathertech or the AVS?

 

My only regret is that CB (Denim!) or AG was not available in 2017. Even better woulda been Dark Blue that is sadly missing from any 3rd Gen.

Other than that, I'm happy with our first red vehicle.

I was going to get a new 2019, found both Inferno and BBP were discontinued, settled on Barcelona red - I wasn't disappointed, it is an awesome color.

The only Access cab manual truck available was over 200 miles away and the dealer wouldn't do a trade.

The same day scrolling through a car website I found my first choice, a 2017 Inferno, CPO at a dealer only 75 miles away.

 

? Nope …. I have white 2 years later and still love the color .

I had a black 16, the color wasn't my favorite at the time but it was the only Tacoma available in 400 miles that wasn't presold at the time. I grew to dislike the color partly because of the paint used now is soft, it showed every swirl from the soft touch car wash.[ I don't use, free dealership service wash it only got 3] but the scratches by the door handles from getting in and out it all added up to a finish that was almost better left dirty. When I first got it it looked great. Kept it 3 yrs.

 

I chose Silver Sky Metallic for my '18 TRD Sport and after 3 years am still very pleased with it.

OP, did you not realize before your purchase that Black would be difficult to keep clean and be very HOT?

 

Black on black for life. Just got the AVS myself, hope it helps here in the NCR.

 

I love Barcelona red metallic, but I would have also been happy with silver, army green, or quicksand. I’m glad I didn’t go with one of those colors though because I see a lot of those. I barely see any other brm Tacoma’s locally.

 

Black is a pain to take care of but it looks the best at night and in the rain.

 

Army green for the win! My previous car was a black ‘16 Subaru Impreza, I loved it but also never cared if it looked dirty, it showed scratches which is the worst part.

We should be honest with ourselves that speedway blue is the best Tacoma color of all time, because it is. I’d have that over any other color, I wish they kept it for 3rd gens. BBP also came on the Ford Escape so yeah it ain’t as good...

When will this thread devolve into recommendations for color-matched wax?

 

THIS is why I chose Black over Voodoo Blue. Plus my wife hated the VB. LOL..
