Well, that’s one way of avoiding paying tolls and tickets… just grind off part of the letters on your license plate and pretend like you don’t know what happened.

Brilliant. Our toll roads are a scam anyway.

I hate those guys with a fiery passion.
Sent me toll bills for a motorcycle that hasn't left the garage in years. Each time I waited on hold for an hour or better. Each time they told me it was a mistake and my plate would be entered in a special queue for human review and it would never happen again. Got the fifth one a while ago and decided screw it, I not waisting my time any more on their fuck up. I'm up to three late notices with ever increasing fees and now a letter from a law firm.
Once they prevent me from registering or something, then I'll have damages I can sue for.
Pretty cool to be a private company that has the government doing your bidding
    Bastards.

I swear I read somewhere that e470 had actually paid for itself years ago, at which point it was no longer supposed to be a toll road, but gov said eff it, we need our monies.

Meanwhile, Colorado's roads are absolutely horrible. I can tell you when we've crossed state lines into any neighboring state with my eyes closed. Wonder what all those misappropriated funds have gone to?

I believe something similar happened with income tax. That was temporary too.

E470 and NW Parkway are private entities not Governmental like Local or State. Doubtful any Local or State Agency (CDOT) would accept their facilities because they can't afford to operate or maintain them. The receipts from tolls pay for maintance, operations, future expansion and repayment of bonds (with interest return on investment to lenders). They are cash cows for the investors payed for by users. Supply and demand. One day these facilities may revert to a non-toll use, but the local governments would still have to pay - something they simply don't see as an expense they can afford.

Good point, thank you for calling out ownership. Still baffles me that the State will fund a lifetime-long effort to "expand" I-25 and I-70 in the metro area, but not acquire a privately owned loop already intact and efficient. I hop on e470 or the parkway maybe once a year and it always seems to be the Autobahn. A lot of opportunity for local folks to better travel safely and efficiently if it opened up to all. I also wonder if there would be a lot less resentment to road improvements if locals actually had a decent road to travel on for 1/3 of their waking hours each day. I'm sure there's a lot more to it - this is just me ranting now per usual.

image.jpg I finally had the time to dig into the front actuator, my suspicions were correct and it is seized up.
Slid the collar over and my front DS spins again!!!! Small victory!!
So now ill tear this actuator apart, luckily i have my old one to cannabilize if necessary

So the motor wont spin through the plug part but will spin when touching the contacts..
My old one i busted the breather i cant imagine it really gets that hot in that actuator.
Im thinking just putting my old one back in and plugging the breather hole.

I get it and feel the same way. All the widening on I70 and I25 which is Tolled is subsidized by private money because our messed up State continues to rob Peter to pay Paul. They allow the Tolls and in return the private funding partner fixes the State owned infrastructure. The State Legislature would rather continue to leverage debt than to deal with the real problem.

Talked with the dudes that messed up my axle shafts, it was tense to start out to say the least but I think it will be ok.
Thankfully I took stupid before shots for no reason other than to post here.
Turns out those saved my ass when compared to the after shots.
Also found a write up online that I sent them.
    https://adventuretaco.com/guide/ste...ring-w-abs-1st-gen-tacoma-or-3rd-gen-4runner/
An axle is an axle right?
They offered to try and repair it, needing the entire truck this time. Understandable, but got the impression they weren't really into it. And I'm no longer interested in being the test dummy.
So they agreed to wait until Pederson does their thing, said to bring back the receipt and they would settle up then.
I don't think they will cover the whole cost, but did mention a refund on their end and possibly paying for parts needing replaced because they will get cut off.
So there's that. Just gotta wait it out for a month.

After pricing used axles on Ebay, ($1500.00 cheapest) vs new tone rings (around $52.00) /labor/etc, it's gonna be about the same cost total with what has been spent already, except this axle will be refreshed and a used one will need the same thing done anyway.

Used crew cab shafts alone are going for $500 each, used bearings and all. That extra inch is literally $300 more than single or extended cab axles, which are found all day long for $199.00

Isn't your truck an Access Cab? Did you swap in a Crew Cab axle?

There's an '06 Crew Cab sitting in the junkyard here in Colorado Springs: https://www.upullandpay.com/invento...rs=-1&LocationPage=false&LocationID=0#results

In my experience, Toyota axle shafts are usually left untouched, but no guarantees if Crew Cab parts have some special magic to them.

It's an access cab with a crew cab axle. They are just over 2" wider overall. That is the only difference.

My rear wheel bearing is very stuck onto the axle shaft. Made my own tool with quarter inch plate and gusted it and it snapped my bolts. Does anyone in the Denver area own the special tool or have any tricks?

Verizon gave me one of their network extenders that feeds off your internet signal. This was because I literally have no service at my house. (Looks like some cheap ones are on eBay)

But if the internet goes out, then I have no cell signal.

I’m waiting to save up for a cell booster like a WeBoost or similar one that doesn’t feed off my internet.
