Last time I was out there was horrible. I was at the top of a rock climb and on the other side of the cliff I watched an ATV rider pooping directly on top of the ground and was yelling at his buddy “hey, throw me the TP!”. And then they left trash as well before riding away.

Anyone running TW express from Denver to Fort Collins anytime soon? Rebecca has something I want but no plan to head her way anytime soon.

This fucking thing. The pictures do the size of it no justice.

The bottom of the bed and trailer were nearly at the roof height of the Tacoma

Stewart Stevinson. A friend up in Gold hill has/had one of those - a radio/comms box on the back. Planned to turn it into a camper.

Place was packed, drive thru backed clear round the building and into the street. Standing room only inside, managed to swoop up a seat.

All normal and just part of the experience I guess.

Did you think it was worth it?

People need to start gatekeeping, shaming, calling out, whatever. I bombed around 500+ miles through the Rockies, Arapahoe and Pike and maybe I just got lucky, but was astonished at how relatively unspoiled it is compared to CA and PNW - especially given the proximity to the metro areas, I assumed the same thing was just happening everywhere. Once that degenerate shit (figuratively and literally) starts to take hold it's all "Well someone else better do something about it!" Easier to maintain than restore, but unfortunately being nice and tolerant about it does not work. If you can't tell, this stuff absolutely enrages me..I spent a great deal of time on the drive back tossing around ideas of how to not just work cleanups but addressing the "brother's keeper" component of it while not becoming a target of the law at the same time.

WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?! While I hit gold with weather and traffic on my routes, I didn't have good luck with food at all. I would have killed to drive across the city and wait in line for that, especially after my Golden Corral experience...but that self serve bar thing is absolutely brilliant, I will give them that.

The relative cleanliness of the Colorado back country is due to 1,000s of volunteers who hauled tons of trash a pickup loads of discarded toys back to town. Some of us have been doing it for over 40 years

Yep, I usually pick up trash when I'm out, but since I don't always carry around nitrile gloves, I draw the line at used underwear, toilet paper or other human waste. It's frustrating to spend time I intended to be out relaxing and enjoying nature, only to be picking up others trash.

15 years ago I was traveling for work in California. My colleagues there couldn’t believe I never had In and Out.

    They took me to one.

All I can say is that it’s aptly named.

While I don’t volunteer in one of those amazing groups I always clean up any campsite I stay in. Leaving it much cleaner than it was when I arrived.

I can’t even begin to fathom how many 22 casings I’ve hauled out of the woods.
