This is the print quality with this filament and my limited knowledge.
Totally functional with minor surface imperfections.

There is some "stringing" with the silver PETG that gets trimmed off.
    Good enough?

34 of that one too?

Btw, are any of your 3/8" ratchets Craftsman?
and if so, are any of the rest any wider at the head?
The Craftsman fits tight. I revised the file to loosen it up just a touch, but it's still snug.
Widest point on the ratchet head we are looking for is 31mm.
File maker said it fits 90% of the brands, just want to make sure what you have isn't in the 10%.
I'm gonna stall on the rest until I know if they are gonna fit.
I can make some more changes if needed, to a certain extent.

1/4" Craftsman fits loose, I see no problems there.
1/2" Craftsman fit snug, but not as tight as the 3/8". Light trimming would solve that.
The 1/2" file is corrupt and will print fine but does not import to allow changes. So it is what it is.

    Just one.

    For now :anonymous:

My Craftsman measure 30.75mm. Same with the Icon. All others are either 30mm or less.

If you could shave some off to make the head space wider, that'd be great. If not, it should be fine.

I do have two old SK rotoheads that are 35mm but those can just deal. Unless you make two silver ones of the 1/2"?

I made from scratch a new design that is 32mm.
Also made another at 37mm to accommodate the SK. Body itself is wider as well.
Had to oversize the center hole as not sure if the anvil on that one is centered from the end with the sides or more offset towards the handle. You may have to trim that.
I biased it a bit towards the handle and sized it at 20mm.
There are currently 6 of the original design size at 30.50mm, and if you have 6 that will fit, I'll leave them as is.

Yeah I have six that will fit the 30.5mm

Thanks for going through all this trouble.

Since we're on the subject, how wide is the biggest 1/2"?

How do you like the icons? I saw the august flyer is going to have ratchets 40% off. Have been considering picking up the icon flex heads. The gear wrench 90t I have are great but are standard head not flex. Wife tries to buy the gold icon everytime we take the dogs for an inside walk. If it had a comfort grip I'd probably take her up on it.

I don't like the Icon much. But at 40% off it will be decent value. Admittedly they did get better since I bought the original offering. I believe they are now made by Kabo, which manufacturers for a lot of brands.

If I'm going Taiwanese made ratchets (which most mid level brands are made) then I'm going with Tekton. Not that they're much better than the Icons but because Tekton is an actual manufacturer of hand tools (Made in the USA with USA materials), is a great company, has an incredible warranty, has a rewards program and also sources a lot of Made in the USA with USA materials for tools they 3rd party manufacturer with.

But honestly my Capri 90t ratchets are grabbed more than anything other than Koken. Anecdotally they just feel better than any other Made in Taiwan I own.

I went down the Made in Japan rabbit hole. Koken ratchets are vastly superior. A lot of professional mechanics don't like them because of the handle (it takes me a bit to get used to but as a home/DIYer it really isn't that big of a deal). But the back drag on Koken ratchets is pretty much nonexistent.

And with the Yen being so weak compared to the dollar (insanely low right now) - you can order off Amazon Japan for less than half the price of KokenUSA or Palmac (or any US based distributor).

If you really want to go for the best (vastly superior to Snap On) look at Nepros. Again with the Yen being so weak, they are actually somewhat affordable.

Don't turn your living room into a sweat shop.

My calipers are buried in a box, buried under my kid's bed... she's still sleeping. So give me a few.

I got about an hour and the 1/4" stuff will be finished. The blue turned out nice.
Then gonna print a few things for myself. You got plenty of time. Plus the drudgery of so many silver pieces. Still have to print and test my designs. This will spill over into the week.

What size is the square stock on them there prybars?
Inches and feet will do just fine if they aren't listed in mm.

    1/2" ratchets:

    Craftsmam 90s: 43.30mm
    Gray Canada: 42.25mm
    Capri 90t: 38mm
    Koken Zeal: 36mm

Can't find my pry bars in this catastrophe of a construction project but here are the specs from Tekton's website. I have the 12, 17, 25 and 36" lengths. But for real, I can buy that EZ Red no problem since it's only one unit.

Just saw a clip did 3D printing.

Didn’t realize it laid filament and built up the piece versus cutting it out of blocks.

    Really cool.
