    1st Gen Tacomas be like:

oh cool, mostly highway miles this tank? Lets get 20 mpg for 3/4 of a tank.

oh…one quick trip to the grocery store? Better knock that back down to 17 mpg for the entire tank.

@Madjik_Man Have you ever replaced (or researched replacing) the battery in Judas?

I'm thinking about picking up a used Hybrid (Ford Escape specifically, but it uses Toyota's hybrid tech). They sounds nice on paper, but the fact that battery health can vary totally independently from mileage/maintenance is a bit scary.

I have. If Judas’ heart ever gives out I’m definitely buying a new battery and transplanting it.

I obviously wouldn’t do the work (high voltage etc) but would pay someone to do it.

Luckily for me my neighbor across the street is a certified master tech for hybrid batteries, etc.

He said if I just buy the battery, he’ll do the work for free.

Also, I’m not exactly sure what type of maintenance you do on a hybrid battery other than keeping the fans clean, etc.

I bought Judas with 88,000 miles on it. Not knowing anything about its battery health and he’s been fine *knock on wood*

I meant general vehicle maintenance, like oil changes, etc. A perfectly maintained vehicle might have a weak battery just because it was driven a certain way or in certain conditions. Replacement actually looks pretty easy, apart from the battery being heavy, I'm mostly concerned about the price and reliability of new/refurbished cells.

Took the van rock crawling in the Home Depot parking lot today. :burnrubber:
Some of you know about the stupid fuckin curbs they have up next to the building where there is barely enough room for two Honda CRV's to pass each other, and they stick big boulders in those things to prevent contractors in real trucks from driving over it while trying to negotiate a tight, acute, corner and avoid hitting the guy wheeling a dolly out in a big orange cart.
Lets just ignore the stupid winding curve they have up there as well. Why have a straight wide lane for people to load/unload and move their vehicles thru?
Well, the ol van drove right up over 2/3 of that boulder, right at the point of rolling, goosed her, she made it, bumper cleared and suspension slammed to the ground, rocking back and forth, shaking me like a marble in a paint can. Shit on the shelves hit the floor, boxes of screws and small hardware sang the song of their people as they exploded across the van.
In my defense, I couldn't see it, had no spotter, did the best I could with what I had to work with.
Not a mark on the van, tire still has air, inside looks like a hurricane hit it. So not much worse than normal.

I have a question about enclosed shipping a restored '68 Dodge Coronet R/T 440 Magnum, 4 speed, shipped from Salida, CCO to Albany, NY.
Who has used a company that they highly recommend?
What companies to stay away from?

It’s my ladies birthday weekend and we need somewhere to go on the western slope. Weather doesn’t look great so thinking Moab for the cool temps and waterfalls. No issue camping in the rain, but looking for something different out here if anyone has some recommendations.

I was a cash patient (no ins) and they gave me a pretty significant discount. Something to think about.

I used MileHi eye for my cataracts.
Its way out of your way.

Lasik is pretty common, did you ask your eye dr for a recommendation or referral?

I did, they recommended the place Brett mentioned during my last check up, which is not entirely off the table. Just want to shop around before me eyes get cut :)

Sounds like they only recently stopped accepting VSP .
