Most likely casting. If they cracked it with an impact it probably wouldn’t be oil panning very well anymore

    That's hanging off the tailgate.
You gotta push it further into the bed before you can legitimately claim "in the truck" status.

I think 5g is faster but shorter range.
4g is probably fine for you.

Only downside is the speedometer stopped working so I'll have to drive into that

I'm assuming your speed sensor is at the rear output of the tcase like mine versus at the wheels, and that you have that swapped over and plugged it in on the FJ case. If you've done that, i have 2 things to suggest:

    1) double check continuity through that 3 pin harness, especially if you extended wires. Somehow I had a pin go bad on mine and had to replace the harness.

    2) make sure your FJ case has the worm gear on the output shaft that drives the sensor. Depending on what truck your fj case came out of it may or may not have had it. I would think it would be difficult or impossible to install the sensor if the worm gear were missing, since it would be hitting a smooth shaft versus a grooved sleeve, but it's something to check. If you pull the sensor and look through the hole, you should see the wavy grooves on the shaft. If it's smooth...I got some sad news for you....

You didn't really think that you were going to slap that baby in and have everything work perfect the first time did you?

Remember...we do it nice cause we do it twice.

:fingerscrossed: hoping it's just a simple wiring thing for you.

Awesome! It should just be a wire issue then. No reason for that sensor to go bad from moving it between cases. At least you don't have to pull out the whole damn thing again.

So I climbed the roof and mounted this thing on the mast for the old TV antenna, above the chimney. That fucker is up there and it's omni-directional, so it should pick up something.

End result, no better. Not sure if it's even doing anything. Would not recommend.

Between that and the camera's mounted everywhere, I'm sure it looks something like that.
Can't return it, too lazy to remove it. Gonna let it suck electricity until I figure it out. Maybe on the wrong frequency, it has several to choose from. I appear to be channel 13. :D:rofl:

I applaud you if you're able to use the stock boot and shift in all combinations without it tearing!

Not bad for a stock boot.

Redlinegoods will make you a nice boot if you really want to finish it off. Squeaky will be a better resource for dimensions he went with on his 1st gen as he set his up a little differently from me. Happy to offer help in making and taking measurements. Biggest lesson I learned is to make sure the bottom dimensions of your shift boot can accommodate the throw for each shifter at console height. I made the rear section of mine too short, and the trans shifter part to long, and as a result the tcase shifters pull on the material when in the forward positions, so I can't really attach it cleanly to my console. It sorta just rests there. Really just a question of how much you care and how clean you want it to look.
