Yesterday, I found a penny on the ground. Today, I found a quarter and a penny. I made 27 cents by just watching where I'm going. And the week ain't over yet. :D

Yeah. If this dude really did start a fire and pose as a firefighter to get behind the lines and watch it burn, that's a new level of fucked up that I didnt think people were capable of.

Glad to see they are treating it as first degree arson even though it sounds like may have originated from a campfire and not a structure. Interested to see how this plays out and what we learn about the other fires that week.

HELP. I'm coming back from moab -to SLC for the weekend. I did hells revenge in my 3rd gen bounced on some rocks. Handled it well without issue. Now all of the sudden today I'm driving and the truck is losing power like crazy. Happens when I brake on the hwy. The radio shuts off and reboots, the christmas tree lights up, then the dash also shuts off completely.
Only change is doing a r4t battery upgrade. If anyone has had a related experience/ solution let me know.

There isn't a single thing that looks out of order under the truck.
Would a bad alternator be a possible culprit?

@ShiftyShank scan and pull any codes? Unplug the battery negative for 30 min, plug it back on and does it replicate?

No CEL, no codes to pull. Did unhook for 30 min re hook.

I just removed the R4T terminals and filed out my leads to fit directly to the top of the battery. Not counting my chickens till I make it to SLC. But maybe these posts are faulty and shitty?

The "brake pedal dimming dash/christmas tree" eval says things are OK for the moment.

Those plates have a few pieces of hardware to keep tight. I can’t say if the quality, but they sure are not SDHQ pieces.

I drove all the way to SLC without issue. I had those plates snugged up proper on all accounts. I'm not impressed or happy with r4t right now.

We will see how the drive back to CO goes lol

I did the battery upgrade with SDHQ & ordered straight from them. It’s been super nice. I did everything though & it was a hell of an upgrade. All the aluminum & everything. Hugo left R4T to go back to toytec & I often wondered why

This sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at battery upgrades. Are you guys talking about multiple batteries or increasing the charge for AGM or something else?

Not sure if related to what everyone is talking about but AGM batteries (in at least 2nd and 3rd gens) need a special bit of trickery to get the alternator to charge more. If left normal the AGM battery will eventually die from not getting enough power to charge. There's a thread about it somewhere, I think you had a jumper wire or something. My 2nd gen was setup like that

I just upgraded the normal hardware with SDHQ. New jclamp, new ground, aluminum tie down & new terminals. I had the gear for awhile but waited till I needed a new battery. The price for this has increased quite a bit

I put an AGM in about a year ago but didn't do anything to increase the charge voltage. I checked mine and it's 13.93v at idle. Guess I'll be the Guinea Pig and see how long it lasts haha.

When I put an AGM in my 1st gen, I tested the voltage (cold/warm/idle/etc) and it was within spec for the AGM
