Received this radio as a gift and have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. Any good resources to start?

He's not everyone's cup of tea, I bought this radio a few years ago based on the video linked above.

IIRC it's claim to fame was it's one of the first GMRS radios with GPS capability, (edit: but i think it can only communicate GPS with others of the exact same radio). Not the simplest GRMS radio, but its pretty simple in that you tune two to the same channel, and push the button to talk.

There's a phone app that connects via Bluetooth. Didn't mess with it much. Might make some functions a little easier than the physical radio interface. If you don't have a GMRS radio in the mix that you really like already, I'd hang onto it.

Thank you for the input and I’ll watch that video. It’s my first over form of comms outside of cheap walkie talkies. Another rabbit hole to jump down.

Don't need to go deep down the GMRS rabbit hole if you dont want. Technically you're supposed to pay the FCC $35 for a license that covers your family for like a decade. Some people might stretch that to say you can buy another cheap hand held GMRS and hand it to your buddy one the trail and that's probably okay.

So… define body damage. Like, if it’s part of the truck I intend to cut off in the future does it count?

Yes. And when you cut it off you "fixed it"

Honestly tho, we are tracking pretty well. The dent happened on 11/8/24. Kinda hard to see in the pic, but the bedside got a dent right in front of where the bumper was
