I think I’ve finished my homework for building my axles but have dummy questions.
So from what I found; LC80 3rd members have 9.5” rear and 8” front??
Regear in 4.88 again with front and rear arb this time.
Going to buy some chromoloy shafts/rcvs with the 30spline outer upgrade on the front. possibly swap shafts on the rear as well.
a rebuild kit for the hubs,

crossover steering. Buzz words I’ve read about at this point. I don’t understand how that changes the push pull drag link situation.

You are correct. But it's an 8" HP front. You will need to swap to manual hubs too from the auto/full time 4wd. You can consider hellfire knuckles if you haven't seen them yet.

Just come over to my place and we can go over it.... I just learned all this myself.... Your front should be the same High pinion 8" that I have. 9.5 is correct on the rear. They use the same adjustment collars for carrier bearing preload and backlash as the 8", but they're way less prone to carrier deflection causing ring gear explosions... For shafts you can get RCV or longfield from trail Mart. Both have lifetime warranties and allow for more steering angle. Are you going with coilovers? I am high steer because I can with leafs. I think it gets to crowded to do high steer with links. Don't quote me on that... You will want to upgrade your lockouts with chromoly or 300m guts and get 6 shooter knuckles or Ellingers keyed steering arms.

I’ll bring your vf2 when I come by to hangout and chat. Whose high steer did you go with? I saw Slee’s kit.

@Tacofire98 thanks for the verification, I’ll look at hellfire later today.

What are the cons of not putting in manual hubs except that my front end would be locked at all times? Wear and tear problem or just fuel economy?

The down side is you break an axle you can't disengage that side, as well as the driveability. It would be super shitty to not be able to get it home since you can't disengage a hub. I have trail gear high steer.

Good enough reason to get manual hubs.

ECGS doesn't sell assembled third members.? :(

I built my 8" yesterday. It's not as bad as it seems but I have a good mentor.. I can help you if you want to do it.

New motor mounts for my buddies 2001. Cut off the thin metal and went to 1/4" and gussets

I'd love help. I don't really want to buy all the specialty tools at this time.

I'll help with the cab too If my availability lines up. (Should be pretty damn free)

Saw a 1st gen Xtracab in my neighborhood this morning.

wtf is this brace? It’s not OEM. Under the cab just behind the passenger door. Clamped around the frame.

Shitty step sides I'm sure. The ones that were on my truck were bolted to the body mounts in the front... I chopped them off similarly instead of removing them proper

As fun as it is to imagine me on a creeper collecting up a photo album, I just felt my arm under and snapped the 3 pics. Some people are paranoid, so I didn’t want to raise anyone’s weirdo alarm…
