I ran Yankee hill bone stock. Its all about tire placement but you could do that without touching a skid. Even if you did tacos come stock with steel skids that can handle a bit of beating. So don't fear all of the noises you hear.
Ah you are talking about the beginning part. There is no way a WRX is making the summit now. They changed it up a bit and now it is all rutted with offset holes.
OK I will bite. What happens 9/10? Do you start training for new job?
You just keep running. Don't worry you catch me. :D

Phhhhwwwww, thanks eric. I was beginning to think I wanted to do a road like fall river up in RMNP for a second. Ha ha ha I like a little bit of a challenge or I would have rode Kingston solo, and I would assume that's not a good idea

Eric 3 years ago we did Subaru meet up there and did the whole trail. Mike and I tried it in our tacomas in winter and could not make the summit. I would do kingston alone in good weather. It's always windy up there.

As long as the weather is good it would be fine to do alone. But what's the fun in going alone.

The way your truck is set up you can run it. It is not that hard but cars will bottom out now near the summit.
Dev that was 3 years ago. I just went last summer and no scoobyru is making the summit unless is fully decked out for baja. Heck 10 years ago you had to be locked in the rear the summit was so rutted with offset holes. Then the FS plowed and it was a road. Now it is getting rough again so I suspect they will plow it again soon. Then a smart car will be able to run the trail.

Like Dev said running trails alone is boring. I have a few annual runs yet to do and they are the most fun in fall. So if you guys want to plan out some Saturday's soon let's do it.
    Want to run:

    Red Cone
Bill Moore Lake - maybe Mill Creek with it.
    Kingston's Peak
    Yankee Hill.

Like I said mike and I didn't make the summit I have not been up there since. We had bad snow drifts and zero visibility and proly 40mph winds when mike and I turned around.

Cool. That is the big puddle. When I was 18 (eons ago) my friend took his newly bought heep through the deep end and proceeded to hydrolock his engine. A $450 tow later and we were back home.

Cool cool. Thanks for the info guys!!!! Yeah running it alone would suck, I just don't want to bore anyone with easy trails.
