That's what our silent/audible switch is for my man...

The disturbed allows "VIP" callers u choose to go thru. So, for me it's a great benefit to use while I train as I use my phone for music.

That's a single option and you still have to manually change the setting.

This is also nothing new. Plenty of options to do the same thing already exists. Taking an old feature, polishing it up with a fancy new name and then marketing it like a unique innovation.. that's the Apple way! ;) :D

As far as training and NFC (as an example) imagine a day when workout equipment is 'smart' and tracks your reps, weight, time, form and just about anything you can think of and then a simple swipe of your phone automatically puts all of that information on your phone to do with as you see fit. Would be pretty bad ass to have information like that at your fingertips with less effort than it takes to track your movements, weights & reps now. I'm not saying that will be here tomorrow but the future looks pretty cool with NFC.

    Are you high?

Even if you need to "swipe" it for yours that's still manual, no?

the new iPhone 5. SUCKS. I will be buying the samsung Galaxy S III :) Bye bye shitty apple OS.

The fact that the iPhone 4 and 4s and even 5 look almost EXACTLY the same was the last straw for me. Look at how far the Motorola razr has gone or even the HTC phones. My main point here is "Evolution" Everyone wants the newest coolest sharpest phones, Just think how crazed people would have been if the iPhone looked COMPLETELY different. Imagine if it had a ridiculously nice camera, Imagine if it had Carbon fiber somewhere or kevlar... Apple blows.

No, not high. Without widgets on iPhones it's still several steps on an iPhone to enable silent mode. With NFC it's all automated and I can have it set unlimited settings (not just silent) and apps with a single swipe of the phone near the tag. That's the difference between automated and manually setting each setting. It's actually quite useful and pretty cool and we're just scratching the surface of what it's capable of. When more phones get onboard *cough*iPhone*cough* then more vendors and manufacturers will start planning for it since more users can take advantage of it.

I just wish this new iPhone would have been a little bit more of a leap forward to push other phone manufacturers to make more innovations but as it sits the new iPhone really isn't going to do much more than current smart phones already do. As a non-iPhone user I'm disappointed. When a new phone comes out that is markedly better we ALL win as consumers.

I own the 4 and until it actually came out i fully planned on pre ordering the 5. I waited and waited, idk how many times i found myself looking at phones like the galaxy and the maxx thinking... I could have this sweet phone right now!!!! But no i always convinced myself to wait for the iPhone 5. WHAT A MISTAKE!

Not likely but based on the specs it really isn't that much better of a phone than the previous one. In his defense a lot of my long-time iPhone buddies are now going Android because they feel shafted by the keynote on the new iPhone and how much of a let down it is. Just feels like an iPhone 4.5s really.

    Our?

Look how many Crown Victoria's were sold. Does that make them the best?

BTW, don't look now but Android is absorbing MASSIVE amounts of market share. The fact that the iPhone 5 is such a small step forward is only going to push that trend even further.

Not confrontational by any means, my apologies if it came across that way. I am just making sure you have the facts right presuming you've never owned the iPhone? Am I wrong?

The switch on the side is the "silent" mode...technically you can configure it to vibrate or not.

Well, until you have a have a fair review to share on the the Galaxy there's no need to bash the iPhone.

I think you misunderstood what I said. The point of my statement wasn't to say that I knew some people.. you know some people... we all know some people. The point was to say that due to the new iPhone 5's specs SPECIFICALLY I know many people who are done with Apple. Point is that Apple is losing market shares globally and Android is gaining them. Either way, that was a very small point in comparison to everything else that I said.

    Crashing and freezing? lol

I do more with my phone than an iPhone user could ever DREAM of (based on available features and options... not an opinion) and it runs like butter. Haven't powered it off or rebooted in as long as I can remember... going on months now since I'm running the stock ROM. Used to do it a lot more often to test new ROMs and such but since I'm still on the stock ROM it couldn't be any more stable. Apple isn't even capable of doing the things my phone does and it does so w/o even breaking a sweat.
