Yah, different kind of abroad haha

Its finals week (spread over 3 weeks) so I finally have a reason not to drink and smoke . After the easiest semester of my life, I'm finally ready to apply myself. School here is a serious joke compared to the University of Denver....

Yah, I was joking when I sait my parents would disown me, should have made that more clear. But true, I could vote 3rd party , it would be a wasted vote in this election, but if enough people did that then I think we would get better candidates in the future. I just wish I could save up my votes from elections I didn't vote in for the next candidate I actually support :p

Man you shouldn't think that way. Actually with how close the election is this year every vote will count more then in the past. Also there were over 10 candidates you could vote for. So if you do not like either of the 2 front runners there were others you could have voted for. if Obama or Romney do not get majority votes then I do believe they have to hold another election(not certain of this). So I wonder if voting for a another candidate could throw the election?

Now that would be interesting. :D

WTF where were all the campaigns for these other candidates? I've never heard of a name other than Obama and Romney for this election. Next election I'm actually going to follow it and have my own informed decision. Right now I've only heard very biased opinions from people on what each candidate stands for. I really don't trust either political party though....too many hidden motives and invested interests. But I guess thats never really going to change, so I might as well get over it

You should do your own research anyway. The media is no longer the media that presented facts and dug deep to get the real story. Used to be politicians hated the media with a passion because they were their sworn enemy, in it only to protect the people. Now they're all in bed together so it doesn't matter. You need to do your own research and look at not only what candidates are saying but more importantly their history and how they've voted. You would be amazed at what bullshit gets passed as fact during campaigns. Promises that stupid people eat up that aren't even possible.

The sad thing is most Americans actually base their decision on the 'facts' presented during the last couple of weeks of ad campaigns. Had more people who don't care for Romney got involved sooner maybe we would have a better Republican candidate than Romney. You've still got time and if you don't think Obama or Romney represent what you would like to see from the country I would suggest taking a look at the other parties and candidates that will be on the ballot. The next most popular would be Gary Johnson from the Libertarian party. Jill Stein is the Green Party nominee.

Personally, I like the anti-big government message of the Libertarian party. If you feel like the government has done nothing but run our country into the ground for decades and shows no signs of doing anything else I would take a look at Libertarian party. The basic belief is that people should have the freedom to choose what's right and wrong for them and the federal government should have a MUCH more limited role in our daily lives. Ron Paul has been a great mouth piece of this party forever and if you watch some of his videos that are on YouTube you may find that you agree with a lot of what he has to say. Those are the same ideals of the Libertarian party even though there's now a strong wave to make the Republican party more like the Libertarian party from the inside. This is why Ron Paul was a candidate to get the Republican nominee until the RNC pulled a REAL shady move changing the rules on the fly at the RNC to require one more delegate to be on the ballot than Ron Paul had. Imagine that. It should be noted that Ron Paul has no massive corporate donations and had more donations from active military members than every single candidate for the Republican nominee back when there were over a dozen and President Obama.... Combined. The media writes him off as a crazy old loon but he's predicted most of our current situation going all the way back to the 70's when he began as a member of the US House of Representatives for Texas and has been outspoken against the fed and lots of other things that many blame for our current situation. He's one of the few who has stood his ground against those along side him who have blatantly catered to big business and screwing over the middle class. He also has been on record voting for several decades exactly as he campaigns and stands unlike most politicians. It's sad he's never gotten the voice he deserves because I have a feeling a LOT of Americans would support his ideas and stances. It would have been nice to have him make the ballot for the Republican party just to be able to have a voice at the debates. Oh well. Since the vast majority of the citizens of this once-great nation are so apathetic to something so important it's only a matter of time now. Goldman Sach's sponsors Romney so I would be real surprised if he didn't win at this point.
