Yeah, but it would have to be a HUGE snow to make up for all this warm weather and lack of precip. That and what if it just warms up again and we lose the little bit we get. Not trying to be too negative, but climatology was one of my focuses (focii for my fellow science nerds) and this weather is not good. It needs to be colder and wetter for the sake of a lot of people's well-being.

oh yeah, we would need multiple feet to make up for where we are right now. The only snow at the resorts is what they have blown on the trails, and the slight dusting in the woods from natural snow fall.

its horrible man, i was up last Saturday and boarded in a sweatshirt and t shirt. I will not be making the venture up this weekend thats for sure, especially with the snow report. Every moron from denver will be on I70 trying to get freshies.

no freshies to be had right now thats for sure!!!

ill be working and heading over to eric's house to shoot the shit for a little bit and watch noah install his bumper:D:D

You know I am of the opinion that the earth changes everyday and every year. Call it climate change if you want but really what we need to is reset our written calendar. We need to push it back about 2 months and our calendar will fall in line with the historic weather patterns and follow averages. Or realize we will be enjoying the winter well in to May 2013. :D

Good luck with that. We can't even get our elected officials to agree and admit that changing our clocks once a year and then back to the original time is a bad idea.

And I'm pretty sure all of the earthquakes in the past 5 years have set the earths axis something like 13° off of what it was.

I say when the Mayan Calendar ends we just quit using the Roman Calendar and stop telling time. Just live sun up to sun down. :D
Well there is that and the methane coming from my dogs butt I am sure has increased the ambient temperature by 2 degrees. :p

Well I wish it was that easy, but we change seasons based on the relative positions of the earth and sun. Solar insolation and its effect on temps and precip is too variable to base a calendar on, but eventually (eons in the future) the northern hemisphere will experience winter in July (look up axial procession or I talk about it below). Our descendants will definitely have to adopt a new calendar by then.
Check this out if you are interested:
    http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/paleo/milankovitch.html
13 degrees is WAY too much of a change in earths tilt. We have had an axial tilt of 23.5 degrees for thousands of years, but it will eventually change and tilt the other direction. That is called axial procession. The earthquakes DID shift the rotation of the earth forward by about 25cm, but that change was in the same direction of the rotation of the earth. Scientists say this cost us about 1 microsecond (1/1000000th) per day.

I'm interviewing tomorrow with a company based out of Boulder. If offered the position, I'd have to move there. So, how's Boulder?
