You won't see that anymore. Brass has become too expensive so the days of 'free brass' are long gone and the components for reloading are pretty pricey these days as well. When these shortages hit they're just as hard to find too. I reload for accuracy and not for money savings. Buy the best gear you can find out of the gate as you will be thankful you did down the road.

Its kinda expensive to start but once you have a system down and the brass, just recollect the brass when you shoot and clean it in a tumbler and then reload. I forget how cheap my dad was doing rounds, he reloads 9, 45, 40, 3006, 7mm rem mag, and i might be forgetting one or two.

I reload 40cal, 22-250 and 30-06. With today's prices on ammo reloading is a nobrainer. Even before things got crazy I was saving 75% on ammo costs. Stuff like 223 it wasn't worth my time to reload but even that now is probably worth it. There is some up front costs for the equipment... I borrowed my dad's old single stage reloading equipment. :)

You can get older equipment like what I am using for just a couple hundred dollars. I would personally spend about $400 and get a Hornady Lock 'n' Load progressive press. It is about 4-8x faster than the old single stage. Then buy brass. There are some online brass places that you can get stuff pretty cheap. I picked up 2000 rounds of 40cal brass for $40 shipped (from Pueblo).

I don't know any range around here that would let you pick up other people's brass. Most ranges around here that I have been to explicitly forbid it.

Gotcha, yeah this was years ago when i was in VA reloading with my pops so im sure things are different now. That would suck if you cant sweep up your own brass though to reload. I mainly brought up reloading just cause some people were having a hard time finding ammo.

I would figure the savings would still be great and well worth the initial cost of the system.

    back to the BS:D

    Yep... :)

I'm just saying. I'd be jelly if you picked up a radiant red DCSB sport. This would be the only one I would take over a tundra. Lifted and SC'D mall crawler is what it would be for me. :)
