So whats the local opinion on "stingers?" I would think they would only be functional for short wheel base trucks (sitting on the nose,) but can also assist in a roll over (when the truck is on its roof.)

I like the looks. Probably not that functional though unless you go really long. Haven't done the physics behind it though.

most cases, only taxes being paid will be out of the estate, however, inheritances can also be subject to tax on an individual level as well (inheritance taxes)

Some reading for you with regards to estate taxes
    Estate Tax:
Since the marginal federal estate tax rates currently “kick in” at 41% (through the year 2003) when planning your estate it is very important to identify the nature and estimated value of all property that could be subject to the tax. Technically, all property that you own at death is subject to the tax, even though some of this property might not be included in what is known as your “probate estate” under state or local law. This includes life insurance, real estate, stocks, bonds, and your ownership interest in the business. In addition, other type of property may be treated as being owned by you at your death and thus subject to federal estate tax liability in your estate. An example of this type of property is property over which you have a general power of appointment (i.e., the power to appoint the property to anybody, including to yourself or to your estate). All property included in your estate, less certain deductions such as those for the value of qualifying transfers to a spouse, is ultimately aggregated with your lifetime taxable gifts (if any) to determine the federal estate tax liability. The applicable credit amount is then applied to reduce the amount of tax owed.
The complexity of the federal estate and gift tax system can present a number of potential pitfalls for the unwary. However, with proper planning, it is possible to ensure that your property is in fact distributed in accordance with your wishes and that your federal estate and gift tax liability is minimized. As a starting point, you and your spouse may find it helpful to compile a preliminary estimate of your assets that we can examine in more detail when we meet and give some thought as to how you might want those assets managed and/or distributed in the future.
    Estate Tax Repeal in 2010:
The estate tax system is repealed with respect to decedents dying in 2010.

    Apportionment of Debts and Taxes

In general, a decedent's debts, claims against his or her estate, and estate and inheritance taxes must be paid to the extent that there are assets of sufficient value available. The question for the planner becomes who should be obligated to pay these amounts, from what assets, and when. The Code allows a deduction for expenses, debts, and taxes paid by the estate, and allows both the executor and recipients of certain property to obtain a proportionate payment of taxes from the estate's assets.
Working With the Federal Estate and Gift Tax System

State law determines the existence and characterization of property rights. There is no separate federal system or federal law to resolve these questions. Accordingly, state law is generally applied to determine the rights and responsibilities of individuals with respect to inheritances and property transfers. Then, federal law is applied to determine the federal taxation of such transfers, and state law is applied to determine the state taxation of such transfers. However, the IRS and the federal courts must give “proper regard” to these state property law determinations in determining estate and gift tax consequences
Unified Credits, Gift Tax and Estate Tax

The Unified Credit is used to eliminate or reduce your tax liability. The credit applies to both gifts you may have received and estates that have been inherited. The credit is termed a lifetime credit because as it is consumed by each gift or estate inherited, the credit is reduced. The lifetime credit applies to all inheritance or gifts received since 1977.
Under the current law, the gift tax exclusion or credit is separated from the estate tax or credit. For example, the table below indicates the following:

    • The lifetime gift tax exclusion you can take in 2010 is $1,000,000. Another way of looking at the same information is to state that you have a $345,800 tax credit that you can apply to any income taxes owed on gifts.
Lifetime Gift Tax Exclusion and Estate / Inheritance Tax Table

Gift Tax Estate or Inheritance Tax Year Unified Credit Tax Exclusion Unified Credit Tax Exclusion 2004 and 2005 $345,800 $1,000,000 $555,800 $1,500,000 2006, 2007, 2008 $345,800 $1,000,000 $780,800 $2,000,000 2009, 2010 $345,800 $1,000,000 $1,455,800 $3,500,000 These inheritance tax tables are used to determine the federally-taxable portion of your inheritance. As previously mentioned, they apply to the net estate you've inherited, not the gross estate or fair market value. Estate taxes are due nine months following the passing of the original property owner. The estate will be settled when a closing letter from the IRS is received confirming the acceptance of the tax forms submitted.

as you can see, inheritances and estate planning can be very complex...if you would like more specific information, feel free to email me with more information, but this topic is so large it's hard to find a specific answer for your situation without knowing more...

    Awesome!

Jace, is there any chance of us getting together and doing my front wheel bearings and driver side diff bearing? I'm lacking 2 very important tools to do the job, press and a slide hammer/ bearing puller. Name your terms and I probably be game.

Don't slide down the rail and fall off the balcony.
