If the pictures you posted this afternoon are current you won't want to use the step bars as sliders. They will bend up into the rocker panel and cause damage to your truck. There are a lot of great rigs on this site ranging from stock to heavily modified. NYCO and COtacoTRD AND Rockgecko03 being on the heavily modified range.

Agreed and if the skids you speak of are the stock skids then I would eventually look at replacing those as well down the road. Speaking of I need to order some bud builts as soon as I finish my back yard.

I hit my tube steps on my Tacoma and they dented a good one before I put sliders in. But it took it, I would not want to rely on them by any means.

So... as far as ride goes. Not sure what Jeep he has to compare the ride to... but my last set up on my Tacoma was 5100 shocks and eibach coils. It was ok but off road it was a little soft. Now I have Heavier duty shocks that are ok on the road but bumps like pot holes and stuff are not too cushy. I think if you went with the popular Old Man Emu set up and took out the 3" spacer "which is what I assume you have?" you will be golden. Just start searching on here using the google tab and you'll find tons of feedback. Oh.. the other thing that some of us did was remove the sway bar. I wouldn't do this without going to a heavy spring but the ride gets a ton better.
