Sorry for your loss. I've lost a few family members to cancer now & it never gets any easier. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2008 and has been battling since. Some months are better than others and she's had months NED (No Evidence of Disease) including a stretch of over a year where she lived a normal happy life. It recently returned with a vengeance in the form of inoperable tumors all over her body to include her lungs, lymphatic system, liver, brain and a few others here & there. The liver one is about the size of her liver & presses on her diaphragm causing her discomfort that we regulate w/Oxycontin & Oxycodone. The brain tumor(s) have been treated multiple times by by a focused radiation most know as 'cyber knife' which has been pretty incredible each time. At this time we're just trying to keep ahead of the disease w/various first of chemo, radiation & treatments but it's proving difficult as one thing works well & then w/o notice it seems to build up tolerance. It's been a trying few years or so with some good times in between but I'm just trying to help in any way I can.

Sorry for getting all serious on the Colorado BS thread. I don't mean to be the proverbial turd in anyone's punch bow on a beautiful Saturday morning but I don't talk about it much or vent often so it feels good to get it off of my chest for once.

Nothing wrong with getting it off your chest brotha. That's the good thing about this forum. As much as we BS, bicker, etc we can all still be friends at the end of the day and support one another when in need.
When I lost my grandpa in Dec. everyone here was nothing but caring, supportive and always here when needed (both on/off the forums)

To try to help the thread get back to pre gloom & doom here's something I did last night in the ER to pass the time. Once we had results and she was on IV fuilds/antibiotics & feeling better we were killing time waiting to get moved upstairs to a hospital room. She slept mostly while I was tired of sitting in the uncomfortable bed-side chair so I started to wander around. I spotted a dry erase board they used to track a patients pain/discomfort level. It was quickly obvious that the various faces were begging for a bit of.... shall we say... artistic licensure?

This is how they look when they're blank:

    IMAG1230_1_0a21e97f99590de2eff1e867e6f2989c748e5023.jpg

...and now, what I whipped up with a chisel tip dry erase marker and about 12min of time. I'm not an artist (obviously) so I'm not possessed me to start drawing at that moment. Could have been the lack of sleep or the Red Bull but it was a nice release for both of us as we shared a good chuckle during and after. The hospital staff was pretty impressed too because they kept sending people in to see it and we all had a goo time. Ladies and gentleman, without further adieu I give you: The periodic table of faces:

    IMAG1231_1_9de62e8bedf08c311554a07a5d23cfa2964dde69.jpg

It's probably my best drawing ever. :D

    Hahaha that is fucking GENIUS!!!!!!

    POTD right there!

Of all the hospitals & ERs I had to endure with the late hubby, no pain scales were on a dry erase board... Didn't get to have that kind of fun to pass the time. Lol

No time for rest man. With the sun this morning came chores. I just finished mowing & I'm cleaning up to head back up to the hospital. Turns out things may not be going quite as well as the ER doctor lead us to believe this morning. Hoping this doctor is equally as exaggerating on the other end of the spectrum. I'll find out more when I get there.

Yes Jer, keep us posted. I hate Dr's and hospitals but that's another story for another time. Best wishes.
