Yeah we really like berthoud but I'm exploring my options. The bad thing is my wife works 3 days a weeks and would have to drive down to Broomfield. I only drive once a week for work so the drive does not bother me.

Sweet! You want to move here for sure. In fact, check out our neighborhood. Very solid neighborhood w/lots of old people and married couples. Not a high # of renters & when the real estate market was tanking everywhere around us values in this neighborhood stayed relatively solid. There's a brand new elementary school a couple blocks away (no shit, like 2 if you live in the middle of the neighborhood) that NativeTaco teaches at. When are you planning to be here? You're welcome to come by and/or we can meet up for lunch. Just let me know.

Sounds like a good decision. lol

Broomfield 1-3 times a week isn't too bad. 5+ days does start to grind on you though. Since I live on the NW side of town I would usually take 287 down to avoid the carnage of I25 and it wasn't too bad at all. Even faster most days.

You gotta try it. I was on a lake on a hard composite board...it's very very serene. It also helps work your legs & core. Need an inflatable to do a river...that'll be another trip, maybe this week. Boss is also bringing his fiberglass racer board next weekend for the lake.

I've seen ppl take a SUP through rapids...crazier still is seeing a 4-person SUP go through rapids.

I would not use an inflatable on rapids unless its the company out of salida. I used a hat plastic one and navigated some good rapids. But the inflatables go under the water pretty easily when It gets rough. We tested both and I would get a non inflatable. The inflatable did great on the lakes.

Good info...I was led to believe a hard board does not do well with the Animas, just because of river level & how rocky it is. I sure wouldn't be going through anything looking like rapids in awhile personally anyway. Lol

There is a company out of salida that makes a killer inflatable one. Ill get the name when I'm done with my head ache lol. The girls did fine on the inflatable on the river the Guys were too heavy. And I was also trying to shoot gaps and I did a drop off so I liked The hard plastic. I'm also 230lbs. :D
