 I just change the oil at the dealer. :D

They sell quick drain plugs. I have not researched yet for one that fits our pans. Pretty slick though because you just attach a piece of hose to the nipple on the end of it flip the valve handle, and very cleanly drain your oil. I had one on my other 4x4 but have never gotten one for this truck yet.

Usually do. Not much gets up there so a quick wipe with the rag around the edge should do.

Just gotta be quick with the last few turns and getting your hand and bolt out of there :D

One of those would be pretty scary to wheel with unless it was short enough to fit up entirely inside the skid.
Break that off with a rock and you're changing an oil pan on the trail.

There is plenty of room between the pan and the skid plate bottom for this:

Here is the one I had on my other rig:

Just had a piece of hose clamped on the end of it and I tucked it up in the skid plate in between oil changes.

ill have to try and research that, hey i wanted to ask you if i can come over and check out your zerk grease gun, if it works on all the zerks on my drive shaft then ill end up purchasing the same model. I returned that other one no problem, they said the heat probably got to it and it started leaking out everywhere, they even gave me a fresh tube of moble one

thanks for the info, yeah i wasnt quick enough and thats where the oil splashed down off my hand and onto the top of the skid plate, wiped up with a paper towel and called it good. no dang way am i ever taking the allpro back off unless absolutely needed!!!!:D

Speaking on the topic of oil changes...

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to remove the oil filter from the 3.0 without make a huge mess of it? I just did my first oil change on it this past weekend and I got oil all over the place. Jace?

Pop a hole in the filter and let it drain into a pan before removing

It's called a Fumoto valve and I put them on all of my vehicles. They're fantastic. I love tool-less oil changes and it's very useful for many things. Overfill your oil accidentally? No problem. Twist open the valve for a couple seconds and drain it back into the bottle for use later w/o spilling a drop. Try that with a conventional drain plug. Need to drain off a bit to send off for analysis? Simple. Make sure to get the one with the nipple though and not the one in the cut-away picture above. BTW, there's a guy selling two of these in the classified section so if two local guys are interested perhaps they could PM him an offer for both, split this total price and save over paying shipping twice from Amazon. Just sayin'.

I was on my mobile phone and didn't feel like searching 'fumoto', copying and pasting for you because I figured you didn't need spoon fed. Your search function must be b0rk. Let me get that for you:

    Lazy people click here. :D

    Ostrichsak approved!

Edit: For $26.50 shipped you're better off just getting a F-103N from Amazon though.
