Anyone change out their stereo for an aftermarket and have the stock surround laying around?
Or do those get sold with the stocker?

I'm looking to mount an inclinometer in mine and I thought it might be prudent to have a backup incase I royally screw this up.

Cheap or free would be ideal

 

My original surrounding didn't come off the old stereo. I don't even know if they do.

 

^^This. I pullled mine out all as one unit when drilled holes for a mount for my GPS. But it might unscrew from the back maybe.

Yeah, nevermind... pulled out my stereo and pulled the surround off only to find that the entire front of the stereo comes with it (kind of like those removable face plate aftermarket stereos). The whole damn thing including hazards button, clock, and airbag lights is pretty damn integrated.

Back to square one

 

Anybody have a good detailer they recommend for buffing out surface scratches?

 

If you were in the springs id send you to my buddy. He does amazing work. But depending on where you are it could be a drive. He's a professional detailer so it costs but his work is fantastic it will look like a truck on the show room floor.

My BC just sat me down and told me I'm going to C shift next year. It was between me and another guy and he said I was acting more professional about the situation and thinks ill deal with the change better. I don't disagree but I REALLY like the shift I am currently on. Sad day...

The way I see it, it would be a good way for the other guy to learn how to handle change. lol

 

There are other things my BC wants to work out with the other guy. And the other shift would prolly eat the other guy alive. I'm sure I'll fit in much better. I agree with the decision, but not happy about it. The shift I'm on is the most laid back and the other is the total opposite. Which I'm fine with, I'll get over it.

 

It's actually for my dad's BMW. My damn dog got confused and instead of jumping into the bed of my truck he jumped onto my dad's trunk. It's just a handful of light scratches - but I want it taken care of. He got the car a couple of weeks ago... Any rough idea of what the cost might be to buff the top of the trunk, Hoyal?

 

I don't know but I know the overall cost of a car is much cheaper than a truck. Ill shoot him a text you just want the trunk done? I know for the full shebang is a 3hr job. But it will look like the day it came off the assembly line.

 

Does he do inside detailing too?

 

He is a full detail shop. A full detail inside, out, and engine bay and everything is about 3 hours.

 

With full release?
