This kind of thinking is famous for getting trails closed and can cause massive damage to the land. If you can't get through the trail as it is, you shouldn't be on it. That includes the conditions of the trail due to weather.

I also wonder how hard that dude tried to get unstuck. I see tons of rocks and dirt that could have been stacked or thrown behind/in-front of the tires. I know the thing is trapped in ice now, but I highly doubt it froze solid instantly. I would bet that took hours to freeze that solid.

id have to say probably not, you can see the trail in the one picture where the other rig is coming down the hill, it veers left and then around the creek and heads out on the other side of that valley.

he probably saw what looked to be a mud / water hole and wanted to go rootin, bad mistake!!!

    No sympathy then.

We went wheeling on Eagle Rock a while back and there were a bunch of rigs that went behind a fence into a marsh to "mud" (morons). They were all flying giant confederate flags and they got stuck. As we're driving by they flag us down and ask if we can help get them out. "Sure we'll send someone your way to help you out!" They were so thankful!

Little did they know we called the Forest Service to help them out. As we got out of the trail we saw them hauling ass past us on ATVs toward them. I'm sure they got quite the hefty fine and tow bill. :D

I was thinking the same thing. If the frame is straight, reinforce it and redo that suspension.

This is very true in most cases.
We know you make decisions but we never said they were the best decisions. After all you sold your bad ass Taco for a 4 runner. :p
Looking at the pictures again this appears to be a play area off of the side of the trial. Whether or not it is a legal play area is the question. Based on the dirt/grass clumps in the ice I am gonna say it might not be legal.

Shit you can see grass underneath where the truck was stuck. I bet that wasn't on trail at all. Looks a like a towing company too. I wonder what that cost.
