Toyota starters are notorious for getting cruddy contacts on the plunger. Tap it and if it starts do NOT use this as your 'fix' for a few thousand miles. Take the starter out, take it apart and clean the contacts. Reinstall in reverse order and get another 100k out of your starter.

Also, check your contacts on your battery and the battery itself. Bad contacts or connection can sometimes cause a click from the starter too.

 

Yeah I need to start doing it myself... Just don't seem to have the time when it needs to be done.

 

Do you know more about that? EDIT actually I just googled it and yeah I've seen that before. It's more grey though and doesn't really have blue in it.

The only colors I've ever seen/heard of is the dark blue and the light blue.




I don't like the dark much because it almost looks black and the other is a bit too blue.

 

How's $10 sound?

 

Tried it with a mag light. That was my first thing I tried. All my tools are still in the springs. No BFH.

X2 on this. I just got new contacts for my 1st gen Taco and got another 100k for only $8. The previous owner had already flipped them around so I had to fork up the cash lol

 

it is more grey than blue and looks nice in person. if your lookin for a tundy in a similiar color to your taco i'd def give that color a look. the SWB tundy is too "in your face" for me as far as a blue truck goes (its big and bright) and the dark blue isn't too bad but liek you said its a little too dark.

 

I have always used a 2x4. Simple and you don't have to be swinging a hammer under the hood.

 

Wheels & nerf bars aren't my taste but otherwise that is gorgeous.

 

It's tough because usually there's always at least one color that makes me warm and fuzzy but not with the tundra or the taco.

 

It's best you're not allowed to work on anything other than fires... shit is already destroyed when you get there.

ok, looking for some help troubleshooting blown fuse.....


my 10a fuse for the running lights keeps blowing (total of 4 so far). every time i turn on my lights the fuse instantly pops. only other time i had this happen was while towing a trailer and i replaced the fuse and all was well again, not so much this time

anybody have a suggestion as to what it might be?

 

Thanks, prolly just going to take it to Jace on a tow truck. Depending on what needs done I may just get a supercharge out on while it's there.
