Wiper blades are starting to piss me off. Which ones do you guys like??

 

Are the tracks that you use with tires cheaper? I'm assuming they are.

 

I have Bosch Icons on the truck now, I really like them. I had Rainx Latitude on my last car and they were good too. One or the other is pretty much always on sale. Bring your old wipers in too b/c I found the "recommendations" they gave me were 2in too short.

 

I had a great moment earlier. I watched one of the Arabs on campus totally destroy their clutch. HA

 

They all go to shit in a hurry. Not impressed with expensive Bosch Icons either. The cheapo ones seem to last just as long. Madjik_Man swears by Goodyear Assurance blades from Costco though.

I've used most of the premium blades on various vehicles in various conditions and have had good luck with the Valeo Ultimates.

 

Nah it was a yellow mustang. Both he and a black one kept flying around the oval with their loud ass exhaust. Then by the time I got over there he was sitting there spinning his tires and revving it every other second (mind you the entire time I was walking I could hear it, annoying) and then he did one final big one and a TON of smoke poured out from it. I was laughing so hard.

 

Well so much for that road.

You will never get much life from rubber that sees a lot of heat in the summer and cold in the winter. It just get stiff too fast. But my Icons have been on for 2 season now and are still in decent shape.

Interesting. Never tired these. Similar to the Icons.

So it's best to run dedicated sets for winter/summer? Good to know!

 

Well duhh... Why else would SaK run them?

 

You could I suppose. But at the end of the day is it cost effective? Or do you just go cheap like you said earlier and replace them once a year?

 

Rubber over time becomes dry/hard/brittle so it doesn't really matter if you swap them out from summer to winter... over time they just crap out. Better rubber lasts slightly longer to some degree but there is no silver bullet when it comes to wiper blades in Colorado. It's hot, cold & dry.... not good conditions to prolong wiper blade life. It's best to not spend a fortune on them and keep an extra set on hand to change out when they crap out rather than buying super expensive and trying to make them last as long as possible and dealing with streaks & such in the meantime.

 

Might sound retarded, but is there anything you can apply to the blades to keep them from drying out?
