Funny, I just started putting together a shopping list for steel for my rear bumper.

When I get this list done can I text it to you? Do you guys have a brake that will bend 1/4" plate about 12"-15" wide?

I have only done stick welding but my bro is getting his TIG setup worked out so he will have that available for the rear. If I can find someone with access to a brake press like I asked about above, I will be able to save some serious time on welds

Yeah we have a press that should bend that no problem, I usually do parts of land cruiser skids that are 3/8.

haha Yeah I just need to find some time to get at mine. Makes me wish I was staying here for spring break so I could just crank it out.

Which is ANOTHER reason why long beds > short beds.

Having made the switch from a 2dr JK to a Taco myself, what prompted your swap? Mine was lack of space. I wanted to upgrade to the 4dr but the dealerships just wouldn't work with me on a decent price. Now I get letters every other day offering 1-2K more on trade than they were offering a year ago. Bastards. Anyway, when Jeep didn't work out I came back to the Taco world. So far haven't really missed much about the Jeeps other than the low cost and easier install of aftermarket parts.

First...sorry for the horrible typing in my first post! Wow...and thank you for the welcome!

Well i had my 2 dr and i had a 4dr. The 4dr was my girlfirends and she was pretty upside down in it or i would have kept that and did a slight overland build. I just had my son a year agoand needed a little more room. Overall we were just fed up with crappy jeep quality and ride. I do miss the availability of parts and how capable they are off road right out of the box. We traded both in for a 2009 DCLB. nice truck...just huge to me. This 2012 DCSB TRD OR came along and i jumped on it. Going to make a nice family overland rig out of it. Then i plan on building a 1st gen 4runner for trail use.

I do have Anthercite FJ wheels that i might want to trade for black ones if anyone in CO is interested! Just not feeling the " simular" colors beween anthrecite and MGM since everything else will be black.
