I don't know what everyone is doing to need a new windshield. I've lived in CO since 1996 (Nebraska before) and have owned numerous vehicles and have never had to replace a windshield. It seems that people are getting it done all the time. Am I just the luckiest driver in this state?

You must be, or you don't drive on the highways, mountains or ski towns enough. I have chips in mine but I don't care too much about them.

See that's just not how I am I guess.

Like I don't understand why people spend a bunch of money on something and then when something very minor is wrong with it, they just don't fix it.

That's probably it. I drive the highways pretty regularly but I don't drive the mountain roads a ton. Not to ski towns anyway. More of the foothills and slower roads with less traffic I guess. I do drive on the highway a fair bit and usually am tailgating and driving like an asshole so that's not it either. :D

Luckily the giant crack on my windshield is low and on the passenger side lol. So I just live with it.

I find that when tailgating the rocks don't hit the windshield. :p

I had a type o. I find that they don't hit while tailgating that why you are good. I normally get my chips in summit county or on a county road.

A small handful of select mods.
The tabs that hold the emblem on are a PITA and it would be easier to remove the emblem on a work bench or tail gate or something like that.

One thing I did notice when I moved here is that the streets are more corse. In SoCal all the street, well most of the streets out there are a lot smoother. And any truck, jeep, large car most have mud flaps by law. I don't know of it's the same here. Plus the extreme change in weather here doesn't help. So all plays a factor in our windshields. In SoCal I never had windshield problems.
