Hey quick question about backspacing on wheels. How much backspacing can I get away with on a 1st gen? I seen some nice wheels but the backspacing is 4.5, is that to much? Will I be rubbing any where on the inside? Any info would help. Thanks

All depends on what size tires you're going to be running. The stock wheels on 1st gens are 4.5" BS IIRC. I'm running mine with 1.25" wheel spacers, so that would be 3.25" backspacing. I know a lot of people run 4" or 3.5" BS wheels and no spacers for first gens.

They do and can but they aren't too bright about it. We saw a Tundra listed online as being at a Springs dealership so dad went to look at it and it wasn't there. They said it was actually in Denver. They offered to bring it down for us but dad said screw it. Later I told him why not, just have them bring it, we don't have anything to lose. So he said he'd take them up on having them bring it down and they were like "well...how serious are you about it because it costs us money?" Real serious but since now you're questioning it, nevermind lol

Ok so I should be fine with a 4.5" BS because I can always add a wheel spacer to compensate the difference. I didn't think about that, Thanks Brett. Tires are going to be 285's.

Wondering if Stevinson can take ownership of the one in Denver so I can deal with my sales guy

Chrysler in Northglenn has one 6" 35"a limited, bumper, winch etc...looks nice but the dealers in NG are always much pricier

You're going to run the frame at full lock. I did with my 265/75s, which is why I got the wheel spacers in the first place.

Kinda a double edge sword though. If you add wheel spacers to get the tires off the frame they'll be closer to the pinch weld and that crap.

Which reminds me, I need to remove some more plactic and spend a little time with my favorite BFH before I leave for Moab.

The guy won't call me back.

I'm sure he has 100s of idiots like me trying to low-ball him.

It's also kind of tough living 100 miles away.

Ok, shame on me for not paying attention.

In my defense, I really didn't think I'd be able to go....

But now that I am, I'm wondering who all else is making the trip and when. I can and will go solo, but I thought it'd be nice to join or create a caravan. A lot of the usual suspects have other things going on and are leaving at weird times and making other stops.

So how about it... Who's going from Denverish to Moab and when?

I think I'll start another thread so this doesn't get buried in here..

Not sure if they sold it or not, just noticed it wasn't sitting next to the white one

We're leaving Tuesday but we're going through Breckinridge.
