Stay in town, pay the rent to XYZ Management Co, enjoy the conveniences of city life...wine, women and song, then split to the mountains on the weekends (still 48 miles one way) and shred the trails. Seems like a slam dunk to me, but then I own XYZ Management Co!

 

Buy a home, live here forever. Quit paying the man. Sorry XYZ owner.

 

I'd say in town. I used to live in the mountains up a dirt road and it was a PITA to commute to school everyday. Mountain living is nice though.

Haha wouldn't be so bad if the road was maintained a little better (or if I had long travel that would have been awesome actually) but winter when the road was icy it would double the commute time. Or how it would dump 3 feet of snow on us and then do nothing in town and then teachers would be pissed about me missing class and they didn't believe we had snow. haha And the whole forest fire thing didn't work out for it either.

 

Hrm, very valid points. The new place is only 15-20 minutes from Golden and 30 or so from Boulder.

what an impressive post for your milestone 500th! I'd say don't be afraid to leave "city" life, especially since you're still not too far away. I live on a mountain now, and I feel like if I didn't I'd still be living in Indiana. I mean what's the point of living in Colorado then????? (says the flatlander)
