I hate all of you lol I knew I was vague but at 3 am I didn't care. I like Harley's but I like the maneuverability. It would be to commute from college I home and around town but I want something light but pretty quick to get through traffic fast. Also I would like it to have two wheels as you all mentioned.. I more so was just asking what to look for average price wise, how many miles they generally last and what good brands are. I know it's vague but I haven't decided what I like outside of the things I know I want above and what it's used for . Sorry for the vagueness!

Commuting I'd get something either in the sport touring range (ninja 250 is great for commuting but not something you're gonna want to be above 70 very often or for very long)
Dual sports are fun... and you can get them in a super moto version (smaller street tires) the long travel is nice on roads as it soaks up bumps and you don't have to worry about every bump, crack, pot hole like most other bikes... and they usually very light and quick. I used a Suzuki DRZ 400s (not the super moto version) for 2 years and put 35,000 miles on it... LOVED that bike but sold it as I ended up doing more Adventure touring. but it was awesome for short stints offroad and commuting. (CHANGE THE SEAT ASAP THOUGH)

How far is the commute? Getting a good, fuel-injected bike this time of year will cost you at least $1500. I agree with the sport touring or super moto if the commute is short.

It was pretty sweet, looked like the body was dumped on a nice setup and would probably wheel pretty well, similar to the "crawlex" that we saw out in Moab.
