Anyone know if Left Hand Canyon is open anymore or have they left it closed after the flooding?

Might be. Just depends, they got rid of all the fun sports. We have a mtn bike race team set up. We prolly have the ringer due to having an ex pro mountain biker on our department.

You doing any events, like the tactical pistol shooting?

Planning a long weekend for some camping the 1st of August. I am hoping to run schofield pass with a 2 gen DCSB. Any body here have any insight on how bad it is as far as width/clearance/pucker factor? I've wheeled ouray in a SWB, so the shelf road driving I'm comfortable with, just never in the taco.

    Thanks for any input!

i was just out on scholfield pass area near the small town of crystal 3 weeks ago, has the snow / rock slide been cleared and scholfield open all the way from crystal side to crested butte side?

    is your DCSB stock?

No not stock, it's factory locked in the rear and has 2.5" lift with 265/75/16's. Didn't know there was a rock slide in the area, I am just putting pieces together now so any additional info on the area would be appreciated.

    From bush ducks:
7/9/14 - Open . Traveled from marble to crested butte. Small snow patch is still there but doable with careful tire placement. Give it a couple more nice days and the snow will most likely be gone.

Hopefully that is up to date

If you cant make it up and over to crested butte using Devils Punchbowl / Scholfield pass the only other way to get to crested butte is using Kebler pass which is like an extra 2 hour drive or something out of the town of marble. We chose to go into the town of crystal and see crystal mill, then found camping along the trail right after the town of crystal which is the start of the Lead King basin trail and Devils Punchbowl / Scholfield pass trail. Some great sites up lead king basin, and right out of the tiny town of crystal. From what i wheeled that weekend you should be fine, we went up lead king basin into the basin portion, not up the switchbacks and back down into the town of marble. I dont have a clue as to Scholfield pass for your vehicle but ive been told i could make it no problem. I as well have a DCSB but a little bit of armor

get the funtreks books to take for the road, big help!!

Good call on the funtreks books. I have three nights four days to go adventuring. Never been to the area so pretty excited.

Great info on the campsites, sounds like I won't have to much of a problem finding a place to lay down at night.
