    Pass the info along....

You know the speed traps that are set up around town and the red light photo intersections? Well apparently unless you are personally served the ticket within 90 days of the infraction, all charges are automatically dropped!!!

Under C.R.S. 42-4-110.5, unless that ticket is personally served to you within 90 days of the infraction, all charges must automatically be dropped. The city is not allowed to boot your car, impose any points on your driver's license or otherwise attempt to impose a penalty upon you under the state statute titled "Automated Vehicle Identification Systems."

Also, if you were driving in excess of 25mph of the speed limit, the city is not even allowed to send you the ticket since such excess speeding is a criminal offense which must be issued only by a police officer.

Drawback is, if you were personally served, you must pay an additional $25 personal service fee.

Quoted from attorney Chuck Humphrey, "It's a fine for the uninformed or stupid among us"..."Some have nicknamed the program 'The Dumbo Tax'."

Info taken from the September 2011 Glendale Cherry Creek Chronicle

had a friend state this though...

"When they mail you the ticket with your photo, that's what they consider to be serving you. If that ticket is lost in the mail, or you never open it, you can argue this in court. However, most judges end up re-issuing it because of proof by photo."

don't know how this comes into play

Like 6 or 7. Fun stuff. Need one for the house since its already been broken into twice. But id rather get better at shooting and handling it before I get a pistol. So if sean, chris, ot anyone goes shooting let me know!

Heard a thing on the radio on this. They were saying it was option in CA to pay and those that have paid were getting mad. They did the research for CO and came back saying that you did have to pay. If you don't then it will go to claims dept or they set up a warrant. Maybe something changed or they just didn't want to get in trouble by telling people on the air not to pay tickets.
