Is that the same forum where the dude "lightened" his bike by drilling a bunch of holes in the frame?

    Haha, that's epic.
Best thing I ever did for my GSXR at the time was get it out of Colorado. Holy cow did the elevation kill the power. Even with programming etc from the guys at Rocky Mountain it felt like such a slug.
    Shoulda tried the juice

Wow, thats just brutal and plain dangerous.

Sounds like something someone with a Ricer Civic would do. Take a big ol' drill bit and "save some weight" from punching holes their frame. Hahaha

Rings a bell but if it's from less than 5 years ago I bailed on that shit hole after VerticalScope bought it out and shit all over it. I attempted to keep the old community feel alive but was ran off by those with dollar signs in their eyes. Sad actually as it was a phenomenal community for over a decade. I was one of the first few dozen members in 1999 and was there for the whole ride.. highs and lows.

You ain't lyin' man. I used to take it to Nebraska which was lower elevation but I will never forget the time my buddy and I loaded up my GSX-R750 and his R1 into the back of my Dakota 5.9 R/T and took them to Monterrey for a couple of weeks for the AMA races at PPIR and bike week. I remember unloading it and taking it around the block at the hotel and I was giddy with a giant shit-eating grin underneath my helmet. The best way I could describe it is every gear felt like the lower gear and 1st gear was some unimaginable other-worldly monster that basically had an invisible string tied to the front tied, run through a tackle/block overhead and then directly connected to the throttle/grip. It was effort to keep my front tire planted on the ground from standing starts at first. I was doing 3rd and 4th gear power wheelies up and down highway 1 like a boss! lol I even wheelied the straightaway at Laguna Seca (while track workers at the start/finish bridge yelled at me to put it down as I sped right by)... also like a boss! That may have been one of the greatest 2 weeks of my life touring up and down highway 1 and gobbling up miles and miles of twisties and perfect weather ever day. Man... what memories.

Wasn't the same guy... but I remember both... wasn't a member of gixxer.com... but both of those were internet celebrities... same with the dude that "flushed" his RSX motor with water to get all the bad oil out... WHILE IT WAS RUNNING per the recomindation of a honda forum...

found the bike I was thinking of... http://www.zx-10r.net/forum/showthread.php?t=88934

Ost for what it's worth running no hoop would be unique and as you state very clean. I would be curious to see what it looks like.

Yeah, I kind of think so too. I like the look of All-Pro's (I think) small hoop that just clears a LED light bar that they have on their pyrite mica truck painted to match. That thing makes me drool. The more I think about it though to more I think powder coating would be the right way to go as much as I know painted to match would look bad ass... for the first few months before it got all beat up. :p

I think you know what that means.

If I thought it would be done well I would. Pyrite Mica is a tough match to do in paint let alone powder coat though so not really sure it's doable.

It's not one of those kinda days.

That being said, I was a DSMer (go fast with class!) for years so I have all sorts of anti-rice ideals and all that sort of thing if you really want to hear it. :D
