I really just want something that is going to be good all season without burning through them in 20k miles. I was set on hankook dynapros and having them siped but it seems they dont last very long.

Phil those are sweet. I'll have to see em in person.

you should go with the Cooper ST MAX I've heard very good things about them and supposed to last longer than a soft rubber compound that most M/T's have

ST MAX are only $233 a tire in 295's but remember I'm running 17" wheels. Lemme know if you wanna stop by and see em, i think you have my number and if not PM me and we can try and meet up.

looking through the other weights yeah i guess these are pretty dang light at 58lbs, the toyo open countries are 73lbs:eek:

I second pretty much everything phil said. The coopers were high on my list. I ran the maxxis big horn mt's. Loved them for off road, they were loud on the road though. Id recommend getting the siped though.

T&T on 34 and Lincoln has always been good to me. Girlfriends family has been going there for 5+ years with no issues. Good considering the girls usually hit something and mess stuff up. We're always keeping them busy.

Yeah I liked them though. Did well for off-roading.

Did you put in for the lateral with DFD? They have shook the system in colorado for sure. Heard from a birdy that 70 of the 249 applicants were from aurora. The system let 49 extra people In the process. We lost one not on lateral but he was in the mix for the lateral, but he got an offer from testing with them last year so he took it.

I have been trying to get in shape since the holiday season. Just bodyweight exercises. Push-ups, pull ups, sit ups and squats.
Overall just over 1400 sit-ups and push ups, 1600 squats and a couple hundred pull ups. Have lost ten pounds gained some muscle. I wish I had taken a before picture to see how much progress I have already made and where I get in the future. I feel good and sleep better. It is easier to eat well. Good stuff.

I can vouch for the ST Maxx. I've got them in 285/75r16 and they're a solid tire, they do well in snow and offroad. My complaints with them are centered around their performance in hard highway cornering, and their turning traction in loose over hard situations - hardpack gravel roads, curvy roads with a light dusting of loose gravel on the surface, certain turny snow circumstances.

This is a complaint that comes into play on my commute up Golden Gate Canyon almost every day, I personally prefer a tire with a more open and lateral shoulder lug. These tires have been wearing phenomenally, they ride great and are pretty quiet on the highways considering how high-void they are, but a lot of that is due to the rather monstrous shoulder lugs, the proportion of shoulder void to lug surface area is lower than most other MT inspired tires. These just squirm a little more than I'd like in cornering.

I'm considering selling or trading these for something more of an MT that will better suit my preferences in a tire, they're an excellent tire if you're looking for an AT with more attitude and capability to grip various circumstances. They also have 3-ply sidewalls which is huge bonus considering most tires in this range (Duratrac, etc.) are all 2-ply, so these don't just look the part, but act the part as well when it comes to offroad prowess.

    My $.02
