Hey Gent's it was suggested to run a first gen tundra UCA bolt with my kit. Can I also use a FJ or 4 runner bolt. Any one know the lengths of those bolts? Plus I don't know if the diameter is the same on the FJ or 4 runner.

I'm not mad. I run my Slee sliders with pride only because I got them for $250 less then what they want for them now. And I needed them as step for the wife. Not many like the style though.

I know I know!! I actually like the slee sliders. If mine stuck out further maybe they could be used as a step but I like how snug to the rocker they are.

Man I thought I was so funny this morning and then you just squashed it gramps, dang!! :)

I've got some AllPro sliders on my rig. I'd give them an 85% in terms of awesomeness. They are bolt on and all holes lined up primo with the holes on the frame, the craftsmanship is pretty top notch, and I can't complain about the good deal I got on them. The only downside is they are snug enough to the pinch weld that I have had to notch it on both sides to prevent contact.

Have you tried any of those "rust paints" that claim to help stop rusting. I am sure there is more of a process then just using their paint but I have always wondered if the claims are real or not (about stopping rust).

    Looking at wheels now...
18" / 9" width ...probably 18 offset for pushing them out?

Any recommendations? Trying to keep it mainly black...a little chrome (like my XD Hoss's had are ok- see photo)

I tried the Krylon Rust Tough or whatever over surface rust that I wire wheeled on my Jeep. It rusted through again.

    Nice!
Pretty sure you want a -negative offset to push them out
O check the backspacing also

Unfortunately, rust is actually a form of mold that gets way below the surface of the metal. Once it sets in, it will never stop no matter what you coat it with. When you grind/sand the visual rust off, the metal will still have rust "pores" that start back up again.

Different grades of metal will rust at varying rates as well.
POR15 is about as good as it gets but it's a 3 stage process and will still not guarantee the rust will stay away. This is best attempted BEFORE the rust begins.

This is why us old guys like Chrome

They don't have anything for a 5 lug tundra. They were developing a Tundra wheel however being a small company slows down their R&D. Not sure if they are releasing it soon or not.

this could be a dumb question but i gotta ask, are my lug nuts on my aftermarket wheels ok to use on my OEM wheel if i needed to put the spare on? or should i have a set of the OEM lugs for that wheel?

not 100% but I think shaft style nuts have a taper to work with acorn style wheels but acorn nuts shouldn't be used on shaft style wheels.

So I'd say you should have a set.

No, even if you have a steel wheel spare. You would need the regular lug nuts that Gorilla sells, not the extended thread nuts. If you have an alloy spare you need the factory lug nuts.
