I lifted my truck with an OME kit a few months back and have been in hell since. Vibrations set in and I went to work. They would go away at high speed and exist at take off, go away at take off exist at high speed. Eventually the CB mount somehow stripped out even though I was torquing to spec. I know, I'm an idiot.

I figured I'd kill the vibrations and bypass getting the stripped mount fixed. I got a one piece driveshaft built by Rocky Mountain driveshaft. It drove amazingly until I hit 70mph my rear end was shaking all over. They rebalanced it and have looked it over a ton and swear the shaft is great. I've done as much researching, tweaking, etc.

At this point I'm at a loss and need a reputable shop in the Denver area that knows tacomas and can spend the time troubleshooting. Who should I call? Is the dealer (Stevinson west) even going to want to touch this with a 30ft poll? I'm at a loss with this.

Did you do anything else after the lift? I.E. new tire and wheels and maybe wheel spacers? Are you sure the vibe is in the back and not in the front? Did you shim the rear axle tube to adjust the pinion angle? Is a wheel unbalanced possibly?

Now that you have modified the driveshaft a dealership will most likely NOT want to touch it. There are a couple of techs on here that might be able to help you out though.

This sounds stupid, but can it be his tires need to be road force balanced?

Yes new tires and wheels, they are in balance. Vibe is definitely the back as the steering wheel is fine but the floor/Seats bounce around. The pinion is within 1-1.5 deg of 0. Wheels were just balanced, and I put my stock ones on yesterday but it was still there.

In retrospect i should have gotten the stripped CB mount fixed and continued down that path or just dealt with my vibes from 0-5.

    Yeah that's me.

I just had 4wp rebalance, but they don't do road force. The fronts are pretty spot on. I actually swapped my stock wheels on the back yesterday. Vibrations were still there at 70ish.

Stevinson actually retorqued everything when it was just in. There isn't A LOT of threads showing since i have shims in, but I don't think that would matter. They're definitely torqued though.

I'd stick to Jace @lotsoftoys on this... but don't know how much time he has now that he's taken Kim's name

RTI hasn't impressed me with troubleshooting. took him from December to April to finally give in and swap in a new front third when I told him something wasn't right (wouldn't shift out of 4 on the fly, would need to be manhandled when in 4 on the road, front tires would lock up last 5' before a stop sign in 4 on wet/icy pavement) he kept saying everything was fine... gave him my truck for a weekend, and he swore he couldn't find the issue (my trip meter hadn't even gained a mile from when I dropped it off) finally he gave in and swapped in a new one with the correct gear ratio, BOOM problem solved.

Yup i have them on there.

I'd cry tears of joy if someone could get my truck driving normal above 70. I'm actually going to throw a gopro under there in the next day or so and see if it shows the shaft whipping.

My truck has all sorts of pops and noises coming from the front end. This is why it's going in tomorrow to stevinson for alignment and service. Hopefully a remount and balance too.
