Cross posted this... looking for some advice sooner than later since I need/want it working.

I decided to add an additional outlet inside the cab of the truck following this writeup, I did not get around to the 400w anytime mod, only the additional outlet part. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...cab-400-watt-anytime-mod.322320/#post-8427988

I began the project, ran the wires, spilled a shake in the back seat. I did not know it originally but found out after I started tapping into the wires, but the shake perfectly shot inside the center console grill thing on the back, which left a puddle under the inverter and all over the back mesh area of the inverter, suggesting it probably got some inside.

I finished up the wiring, turned on the truck, and when in park, when I push the inverter switch, the 100w and 400w lights illuminate for about 5 seconds then turn off. I disconnected the wires from the new outlet and just left them hanging (not touching) and it does the same thing. Did the effing shake short out my inverter?

The wires I used to extend the stock wires to the outlet are 14awg, stock look like 16awg. I ran out of 14awg for the two power wires, and used two 16awg wires from the outlet to a ground.

My guess is that the shake did indeed short out the inverter. What I can definitely tell you is that 16 gauge wire is more than capable of handling 3.3A when the inverter is pushing 400W to the outlet. Sorry I couldn't be of more help than that.

Update, went out to check the fuse (assumed it was fine since the lights on the switch were coming on). It was indeed fine, started the truck just to see and now it works (lights on the switch stay on). The wires are not connected to the outlet so I guess I'll mess with it in the morning and see if it still works and try to connect the outlet again.

I call ours the Korean Cruise Missile because that thing has the 2.0T that's 274hp and the sucker flat moves man. Gets about 30mpg mixed city/highway with us driving like a-holes and takes regular unleaded. Love that car man.

Took the 950 out yesterday which I took off from work and went down Highway 67 to the Platte River and then went north to 285 via Foxton Rd. then when Guanella Pass had a long wait for construction I hightailed it to Boreas Pass and came over to Breckenridge. Then went over Swan Mountain to Keystone and had lunch at the Dillon Dam Brewery with my younger Brother who's in from out of state. Then I zoomed over Loveland Pass, to 70 to Squaw Pass to Denver. It was a good day :D.

Are those something I should hit with anti-seize before I get too many years and miles on the truck?

I second that. I had mine anti-seized at the 5K Toyotacare service interval just to make sure.

Well I'm probably hosed already then but when I take my truck in for an alignment I'll ask them to coat em with the antisieze, if not then I'll have a go at them myself when I switch to my snow tires.

So I need to replace my front shocks, is it worth the extra $250 to get a replaceable 2.5 in shock? Im looking at upgrading to the BOSS coilovers. And for those of you that have the BOSS set up, is it worth upgrading from the OME 9000?

Once the LCA bolts are seized, what are my options? Keep trying different shops after soaking them in pb blaster? Cut them out?
