Other side was a breeze... I was flying along until that damn UCA bolt!

To answer your earlier question, the upper ball joint nut looks exactly the same on the driver side.

For those who don't know what he's asking about... I had heard that the gussets were not compatible with stock UCAs. The only reasonable explanation I got was that maybe the stock ball joint wasn't long enough to make it through the extra metal that the gussets add.

It seems that the LR ball joints aren't long enough to make it through the gussets either.
I was unable to get the castle nuts on far enough to install the cotter pin.
They're in there good and tight though.... guess I'll just keep an eye on them :notsure:

A small handful of select mods.
We reinstalled the factory castle nuts on the LR ball joint. The LR nut is wider and does not work with a gusset. But the factory nuts will, allowing you to install the cotter pin.

That explains it. LR also comes with a 20mm nut wich made adjusting with the gusset very tight as it was. I didn't think to even retry the oem on the LR

    I think it's at least 3 maybe 4.

Changed something, had it done. Trail knocked it out, had it done. trail knocked it out again, had it done and tightened the snot out of it and painted it. That was just before Moab.

was good then until I bent the spindle.

Fortunately none of these cost me anything. But now I request the same guy each time and tip him. totally worth it.

Hey gents now that the engine is out I'm going to clean up my engine compartment and paint it. Any one know where I can find the grey paint that is used in there. I'll do some google searching but just wondering if any one here knows.

Whelp, I'll be living right next to City Park for the next four months. Not too crazy about the location but it's cheap! Might be interesting.

Yeah, sorry... I read a few posts back and realized that it's just a lead.

I'll still post it to my friends in Maine just in case.
