For that one I just used windows movie maker just to trim them and put them together. I used to use the gopro studio but it's lacking and it doesn't recognize other file types. I downloaded a trial of Adobe Premiere and it seems pretty cool. I tried saving some footage though and I could only hear sound, not video, but in hoping that maybe since its a trial they don't want you saving footage maybe? But it's only like $80 and it has all the cool features like image tracking and stabilization. So I'll probably end up buying that here sometime.

I didn't use any video stabilization in that video, it's all the drone. It has an 3 axis gimbal so it's really smooth. I had some video where we were pushing on the drone hard sideways and you couldn't even tell in the video.

Saw 4 deer on Wednesday, but they saw me first. The only deer I saw for 12 days out in the woods.
Played with 3-4 bulls on Monday evening, they followed me and we played cat and mouse for a couple hours until it got dark. Never could get any of them to come within range. So, no, got nothing, but I have until the end of the month yet.

Not really a trip report, just some pics of the last two weeks.
The day I left, just before dropping Archer off with Mom.

1st camp. Luxurious compared to later in the week.

You don't realize how spacious a tent can be until you crash in the bed of a truck for a few nights. There was a reason for it though.

The last of the elk burger with some kind of nut maple glaze. And a baked spud.

    Typical breakfast.

My brother's truck and my buddy's truck. Both were watching a movie while I was chasing deer and elk away.

3 days into it, my brothers camp was raided by a bear. Shots were fired, but he missed...
The little bastard walked into camp we figure shortly after he left for the morning hunt and had almost 4 hours to go through stuff.

37 granola bars, two in each package.
    20 packets of instant oatmeal.
entire bag of snickers bars. Bag unaccounted for.
Large jar of Skippy peanut butter, jar unaccounted for.
4 bags of Mountain House freeze dried food.
can of beets, didn't care for them.
Can of Sunshine Wheat, didn't care for that either.

    Teeth and claws.

This was a plastic honey bear with blueberry flavored honey. Bears like both of these. He was very thorough with this one.

Brillo was not to his liking either.

I'll bet they didn't. Otherwise there wouldn't have been a bear.

In my experience, the best way to avoid bears is to have a bear tag. You'll never see them.

Skip buying your bear tag though and they'll be all over you.

    @lotsoftoys @thefatkid need more advice....

Swapped in the fan clutch last week. Seemed to improve things. Wheeling this weekend I heard an occasional sound like a pulley might be going out or something. Now I've got this super annoying noise:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_7S5Su4zyQ

Only happens once it warms up. Thinking it might be related to swapping the fan clutch. Do you guys loosen the belts when you swap those. The reason I ask was when taking the old fan clutch out, the tension on the belts held it on, and when I did get it off, it torqued that big pulley down some. Got it back onto place by tightening the new fan clutch down. Wondering if this effected something.

Thought I figured it out when I saw my AC belt slipping at idle, tightened that up. Sound didn't change but my AC works better! Alternator and PS belt seem tight enough.

Anyways, could be completely unrelated, but any ideas?

    This.

I'm thinking this one will be a bit thicker unless he drank gallons of water afterwards.

There was a sow last year in the same area that was put down by two archers who got between the sow and her cubs, it was a complete accident and the DOW was informed. The two cubs were left to fend for themselves and we think this may have been one of the two. We reported it and if it continues to raid camps the DOW will put it down.

    Never enough
I don't want to be "that guy" because I don't know the specifics of this situation so here is a general PSA for anyone who hunts, camps, or just spends time in bear country...

Please look into the technique called "bear bagging" or similar to keep edible and other, less obvious "smellable" items out of bears reach. It requires no special equipment, costs essentially nothing, and only takes a few minutes to do.

Basically you put all food items and "smellables" including toothpaste, deodorant, and even camera film (if anyone even uses that anymore) into a duffle bag or similar. Then find yourself a nice tall tree with a sturdy branch approximately 25' off the ground. It's best if there are no other trees/branches near by. Throw a rope over the branch and then tie it to the duffle bag and hoist it up off the ground. Now you may be thinking to yourself "hey bears can climb trees, how is this gonna help?" Well the trick is to get the duffle bag at least 15' off the ground but that's as far as you lift it. This should leave it approximately 10' below the branch that the rope is thrown over. This technique makes your tasty items very difficult for a bear to get to and they will likely move on and pick an easier (and hopefully natural and not human introduced food source).

There are many benefits to both the bears and humans enjoying the outdoors when using this technique and there are variations you can use if the environment doesn't allow for what I've described above.

I would be happy to answer any questions anyone may have so feel free to ask. Let's continue to enjoy the beautiful Colorado wilderness responsibly!

This is the conclusion of the public service announcement.
